per PFT, there is speculation that Meriweather could pursue legal action against the lawyer or accusors.
If he's innocent, I'm very sure the Anti-Meriweather Brigade will be on this thread apologizing about rushing to judgement.

Yup the music did it. Wait no maybe it was the Matrix or Grand Theft Auto.

Are there any Mensa rappers? Didn't think so.
Pretty clearly none of us know what's going on. I take my cue from the lack of any meaningful stories on SI or ESPN web pages, whose mediots would be all too happy to jump all over a Pat in distress. Suggests either that the facts are muddy or that there might be concern about libel.
In any event, I hope the injured, however they got to be that way, are getting better and/or out of danger.
Definitely time to suspend judgment.

Either way, rap music had nothing to do with this shooting.
The alleged incident happened on the clock is why...
And he remains under contract to an NFL franchise whether or not there is a CBA presently in effect because there will likely be another one of sometime in the forseeable future or better (or worse in some respects) yet there will be operations ongoing under owners workplace rules... The personal conduct policy isn't going away. Not sure it's even being negotiated this time around. Reportedly one of the minor issues the two sides had come to relatively painless agreement on already was the recoverability of signing bonus in the event of suspensions and incarcerations or behavior off the field that limited a players availability to get on it... Much like the rookies and tag victims the NFLPA was only too willing to throw the screw ups under the bus as part of any negotiation...
Out of curiousity -- a quick poll of the users on this thread:
Which would be worse?
* Brandon Meriweather being at a party where two people were shot, but Brandon himself not involved with the shooting.
* Kevin Faulk getting busted for pot possession at a concert.
Obviously the first case has shades of Pac Man Jones all over it, but no actual guilty actions. The second case is presumably a more minor offense, but with actual guilt committed by the player.
Which one would concern you more as a fan?

What a dip****. Well... cant say we didnt know this was a possibility when they drafted him. He came draped with red flags from the very begining. :bricks:
As Meriweather jostled between his two cousins, one of Taylor's friends, whom the witness identified at Anton Massey, drew a handgun and fired at Payne, mistakenly striking Taylor and Stanley. The witness said Meriweather played no other role in the incident but peacemaker.

You know, in the United States the accused are innocent until proven guilty.
