NY Post's Jets Columnists Mark Cannizzaro and Steve Serby 2 BIG TIME Jet fans put their predictions for playoffs. I think It's really cool that they picked us. Notible mention as well was Belichick for COY.

That EVERYONE is picking the Pats is making me a little nervous.

I live in the NY area and I don't think I know anyone who is picking a SB winner other than NE.

This is unprecedented for a Boston area team in my experience.

That EVERYONE is picking the Pats is making me a little nervous.

I wouldn't sweat it. They've clearly been the best team in the league for the past 5-6 weeks. No 2 ways around it, people will pick them. We've been here before, it's not that big a deal. We ain't sneaking are way into the playoffs.

Interesting take from the NY media, and while I don't really pay attention to the Boston media, I wonder if they've taken enough time away from trying to trash the Pats to be aware that the Pats made the playoffs.

I'm not that nervous about the Pats being "the team to beat". It's not like they didn't have that same target on their back in 2004, when they were the second seed after having won two of the last three SBs. And while this team does have some youngins, it seems pretty clear to me that BB has coached them up very well.

With the regular season over, here are some post-season playoff predictions from the media.


NFL roundtable: Pats in control, Bears could implode - NFL - Sporting News

1. Who will win the Super Bowl?

Dillon: Patriots. They have the best quarterback (Brady) and the best coach (Belichick). They reinvented themselves on offense in the middle of the season and still won 14 games. It's been so long since Brady threw an interception (335 consecutive passes and counting) he probably has forgot how to do it. The Patriots are on an eight-game winning streak and have outscored opponents by an average of three touchdowns in that span. Who's going to stop this runaway express train? Nobody.

Greenberg: Patriots. Half a week spent trying to figure out a good reason to pick against New England is enough — I'm waving the white flag. The Patriots are just too versatile, too difficult to scheme against — too dang good. They'll do what they have to do to get to Arlington, Texas, and no NFC team can match up.

Iyer: Patriots. Unlike 2007, they are far from a perfect team but their focus, determination and execution makes it difficult to pick anyone else. The only team that could match their coaching and quarterback moxie is New Orleans, but the reigning champs must win three straight road games to reach the Super Bowl.

Two out of four say the Ravens are the most dangerous team and three out of four say the Bears are the most likely #1 or #2 seed that will lose next weekend (the Steelers were the other one). They also discuss Brady's place in history if the Patriots win another championship, and finish up with a question on who is the most important rookie in the playoffs; two name Rob Gronkowski and one says Devin McCourty.

Here is how I rank the dozen playoff teams from most to least likely eventual champions, with Las Vegas betting odds in parentheses:
1. Patriots (8-5 favorite): It's a downer, this feeling of foregone conclusion. Can't we arrange for Gisele Bundchen to ``accidentally'' push Tom Brady down a flight of stairs?
2. Saints (9-1): Defending champs have seemed to rediscover some of that old Cajun mojo, plus have the luxury of an unexpected first-round bye -- meaning they play the fetid Seahawks.
3. Packers (9-1): Picture me in a cheerleader outfit. On second thought, that's a really creepy visual. A 3-5 road record and tough opening game at Philly give us pause, but I believe in Aaron Rodgers and that tough defense.
4. Falcons (9-2): Most everybody else's NFC favorite is not mine.
5. Steelers (6-1): Playoff mettle, Big Ben and big D equal an outside shot.
6. Colts (12-1): Peyton and Nags playing well past month, finding stride.
7. Ravens (9-1): Difficult opener at K.C., where the Chiefs were 7-1 this season.
8. Eagles (9-1): Fireworks on offense, but issues on defense.
9. Bears (8-1): Low rank for No. 2 seed with a bye, but not sold on Jay Cutler.
10. Chiefs (25-1): Big running game, but can't see victory over the Ravens.
11. Jets (15-1): Team not as good as Rex Ryan thinks, as Indy will prove.
12. Seahawks (125-1): A 7-9 playoff team? Why couldn't the Dolphins have worked a trade to the NFC West!

Sorry it's a nice read since he has the Patriots as favorites, but this lacks real depth or analysis. Superbowls aren't won by how many 1k receivers or rushers you have or how many pro-bowlers per se.
