Of all the games I have seen of Matt Lights performance during the past several years,I think today's play against Peppers was the best day I have seen of him against elite pass rushers in years.

Not only did he nearly keep Peppers name from being mentioned but he was also incredibly quick with the run blocking on his side and he was faster downfield during runs than I have seen for quite awhile

Sometimes Light can be erratic but I want to see him on the left side next season

some think he is done and needs to be replaced...I don't

He has played very well this year...i wouldn't rule out a two year extension. But i would let SeaBass Vollmer start at LT next year knowing he is our future down the road.

I believe it was the Lion's D-linemen that thought he was washed up. Brady tooks some shots in that game.

Light, as of right now, is still the best tackle on this team. I wouldn't mind seeing the team offering him a new two or three year deal if the money is right. IMO, Mankins needs to get done first though.

The whole offensive line has played well this year as a whole. The funny thing about Light is he always seems to shut down big names and then struggle with randoms. I'd love to see Light come back next year, but the team still needs to invest some high picks into the offensive line this draft.

I have been saying for a while now I don't get the people wanting to get rid of light and on that same line of thinking mankins. Brady is our number 1 priority and he is comfortable with this line and this group.

Secondly this line isnthe veteran core of this team specially light mankins koppen. I don't think it would be a wise move with this young team to take away that veteran presence specially when they have proven to be a solid to good OL all year (if not one of the best in the league)

i agree 100% pay Mnakins first and then light

yep, never mind 4 first day picks the biggest need this offseason is to resign Mankins and Light

I think the FO will trade one of those first day picks into 2012 and look to pick up a high ranked T to groom as Light's replacement. I cant see Merriweather getting extended either so maybe also a safety

The OL is playing off the hook with Mankins back he seems to have elevated the play of Light. He still has a few years left in him.

Agree Light still has a few good years left.. this whole O line is a credit to Dante.. who does not get enough credit.

That would be a good debate. I don't think Vollmer is much behind him if not better.

Light is always a lightning rod around here. He can play lights out for an entire game against an elite pass rusher and then let him through one play and people start complaining about Light being a turnstyle.

Right now, he is the second best LT in the division after Jake Long. I hope they extend him. At his age, he won't break the bank. The Pats should be able to get 1-2 more good years out of him.

A lot of people.

Why wouldn't they extend Meriweather? Seems like a no brainer to me.

just a feeling but i think he'll want to 'get paid' and I dont think he's as good as he thinks as he is

He is a lot more humble then some of the other starving families that have played on the Pats. Only time will tell tho

absolutely to mankins.

as for light....I like him and he will be back, but I think both he and vollmer benefit by being next to mankins.

Perhaps you are trying to say that another team will likely be willing to pay more than the patriots. That's usually what folks mean when they say that a player wants to get paid and isn't as good as he thinks he is.
