All due respect Ian, the Colts are 2 -3 as a road team this season. The Patriots are 4 - 0 at home this season, finished 8 -0 at home last season, and Brady has won 24 straight games at Gillette.

With all of the Colts many injuries this strikes me as a very winnable game IMHO.

and very losable.

Ian, I think that starts with the moderators- keeping the game threads a positive place in which to discuss football is going to require a lot more hands on monitoring than we had this past Sunday in the game thread, which was one of the worse threads this forum has produced. As more than one poster in this thread has mentioned, it just puts people in a bad mood.

I really think that it is worth it to lose a few posters for sake of conserving the general decorum. And I don't mean permanently banning posters, but removing them from the game thread should be a healthy deterrent.

I will never understand why people are posting in a messageboard online DURING games in the first place.

I don't either but sometimes i still find myself reading them. And i know i hate them and they put me in a bad mood but i look at them anwyays. I need to stop it.

If you didn't know anything about this team you would think they are 0-8 from reading those threads.

no wonder other fans think pats fans are spoiled jerks and bandwagon or fairweather fans.

One reason would be seeking comraderie, a concept that is increasingly foreign on this board. Another would be because they aren't getting a live game feed and want to know what is actually happening as opposed to some delayed video game feed. That's how the threads started. Now it's increasingly become a haven for those wishing to vent their unbearable frustration at almost anything this team does. Even if they win, they don't like the way it unfolded and like NEM they are delusional to the extent they honestly believe they could have done it better than the shmucks on the field or on the sidelines...based on their years of experience watching football every Sunday from the comfort of their asses...

Absent the physical threats, we have a small but entrenched boatload of NEMS here nowadays. At least when it was the one and only he provided some comic relief in a perverse sort of way. And at least for all his warts we always realized in his own twisted way NEM was first and foremost a fan who despite his desire for more and better offense always wanted most of all for this team to win. Nowadays, no so much. These guys are doom and gloomers who would relish being right even moreso than winning.

I don't know what to think about this team. This year it seems like whenever I think they will win a game easily, they either lose (NYJ, CB) or barely eke it out (Buffalo.) When I think they will have trouble winning, they look darn good (Cincinatti, Miami.)

And now we have Pittsburgh... and I have a headache.

speaking just for myself, i do it when we don't get the game in Manhattan and I can't bring myself to watch the Sanchize and Wrecks. sometimes i'll come in at the halftime of a televised game or in the fourth quarter of a game that we've lost badly, just to commiserate.

We must realize that there are lots of Boston fans here. Football games are decided by one point in the 3rd quarter. World series are lost in the 6th game.

It sure did decide the game. If that kick is good there is no Jet comeback, simple as that. They wouldnt have been able to get a TD during the last minute, also when you are down 2 TDs you are in a completely different mindset. Of course a play in the 3rd quarter can decide a game, any play can

The NFL has become wildly inconsistent overall. In fact, I think inconsistency is to be expected, especially of young teams. The old adage "on any given Sunday" has never been truer.

After 2007 I learned my lesson. If at times I get nuts it's because this team is not consistent.

This team has no consistency, or at least that is how it seems to me. They have playmakers, but are not consistent.

Good post though. Watching the 2007 offense it sure looked easy, and the fact is it's not.

Stay grounded patriot nation...and enjoy the games as best you can...!

The good news? I have yet to see a consistently good team thus far this season.

Hate to break it to you, I think the Pats will lose again this season

Never!!!!

quite simply, I fear we will be annihilated. If the boys put up a good fight, then well, I guess they're still my team. If perchance, they should win next week, then I'll let my hopes get sky high.

You know, it would almost be worth getting crushed 50-0 every game for the rest of the year just to clean out people like you from the fanbase.

Wouldnt be surprise at all.The colts have had this team's number recently.I will take 1-1 the next 2 games but i hope that victory comes against the colts. We could possibly see close to 1000 yards of total yards by the opponent.

Colts are the one game my prediction will remain the same all year: 44-3

The next couple of weeks are very tough for us but i believe we win one of them if not both. I feel better about the Indy game especially since were home and they are hacked with injuries.

Pittsburgh is a winnable game, we wont play that bad like we did last week, we'll be ready. I have a good feeling about this game. If we can hold AP and Rice to under 100 yards, why not Mendenhall? We had a bad game, it happens. I have high hopes for these games.

I said this at the end of the pre-season when it was all doom and gloom...."i've seen this movie before, the Pats will bounce back and play well" And i'm saying it again, the Cleveland loss was an abberation. Like Arnold said...We'll be Baack.

There is not an easy game on the schedule. I could see the Pats winning the rest of their games and I could see the Pats loosing the rest of their games. Brady was right. If they play like they did in Cleveland, say hello to 6-10. Hopefully that message gets across, otherwise things are going to get real ugly.

There are no gimmies this year in the NFL.

Nicely done!

This place will turn into Post Katrina New Orleans if we lose badly to the Colts next week.

Up and down and up and down and up and down....

this thread is even more stupid than i thought is was.

I have to be honest....when I first saw this thread I actually thought we could be in for a 4 game slide. I've learned my lesson. I bet no one's happier than Ian that he was way off on this one. They are 9-2..ha! I still can't even believe it.

I have alot of confidence in this team and I rarely doubt a Loss......im actually happy and not so much surprised because i personally had us at 8-3 about now.

I think if we keep working hard and doing enough then God Knows what we can achieve with this team this season!

SO glad the meltdown after the Cleveland game didn't happen.
