As much of a glory-hound Favre is, I give him full credit for making 291 consecutive starts.

Farve expects to start, nothing new from Childress.

Rivers played pretty well against us with an ACL injury,I would not take the fact that Favre will be gimpy as a sure bet that he will struggle.

I would hope we blitz a little more. The guy's still gimpy and doesnt move alot.

It was never in doubt, in my mind. The man is tougher than a nickel steak. 291 doesn't have the same nice roundness to it as 295 or even 300.

Can you imagine 300 starts in a row in the NFL?? It's crazy. I can't say I'm a fan, I can respect the toughness. I'm not sure his streak is in the best interest of the teams he's played for, but that's another debate.

obviously he isnt as hurt as it was portrayed. As peter king said, it was a glofiried ankle sprain. favre tried to milk it to get atten , then got worried chilly might actually not start him and suddenly is leaking all kinda getting better info to the media. So if he starts and plays well, his legend grows. starts and craps the bed,he will start limping or hold his arm or something and go out and be called a warrior.if he doesnt start and vikes lose...blame chilly.
as always its about him him him. sad that the peter kings of world dont seem to see this

Rivers follows the script. Favre doesn't. He will freelance and that is what will get him in trouble.

Yes. I fully expect at least 3 INT's by our defense, with one of them a possible pick-6. Man has a proven track record.

The consecutive starts streak is impressive from a physical toughness standpoint, but there have been times where Favre starting actually hurt his team. In 2008 he played like absolute garbage down the stretch and if his arm was as hurt as he says it was, he should have sat. There comes a point where playing through injury can be detrimental to your team and trying to play can actually be selfish. Favre was already playing poorly before this injury; I don't like his chances of doing well with it. But we'll see.

He was pretty shakey that day. Barely 50% completions, no TDs, 2 picks. If Volek started the Chargers might have won that game.

What the hell are you talking about?

Rivers 2007 AFC Championship Game
51.4% - 0 TDs - 2 INTs - 46.QB Rating

If that's "pretty well" to you then Brett Favre is having an MVP season.

Ok, you don't like him, but that shouldn't cloud the fact he is injured. He didn't get to 291 for being a sissy. His foot is fractured in two places. I'm guessing he'll have the maximum amount of drugs allowed in order to play. Since when do we start taking Peter King seriously around here.

It wasn't Peter King who called it a glorified ankle sprain. It was an NFL team doctor King spoke with. The doctor also said that he'd expect every NFL QB to play with the injuries Favre is saying he has.

it was said by a doc not by king. what i saw on sunday was everytime he threw a complete pass or a (reversed) game winning TD, he ran around like a little kid. all other cases he was limping. Same with the jet game. All first half he keeps holding his elbow and the suddenly it goes away in the 2nd half. no one is saying he is faking injury. but it wouldnt be beyond him to play it up more than what it is.

After the saints NFC champ game last yr , he and his agent released pics of all the bruises he suffered from the hits. For what ? Brady before the ACL has played through seperated shoulder, sports hernia, elbow injuries and what not. But not until the offseason has anyone ever spoken about it including brady.

Regardless of who starts, it seems the Pats D strategy changes very little.

Either we pressure the QB because it is Favre and he's injured on his follow through foot and will likely throw an INT or 7.

Or we pressure the QB because its tjax who hasn't likely practiced much with these players and will have no rhythm to speak of.

Maybe I'm just not X&O enough to know but I'm not really sure what this QB ruse was ever meant to accomplish. I'm going to take it at face value and say it was never any kind of ploy but honest Childress decision making failure. That seems more likely anyway.

I just hope whoever plays that we bring the pressure!

Childress plays checkers. BB plays chess bilndfolded.

After all, BB almost literally destroyed the 2006 Vikings team (he showed that all you had to do to beat them was throw over the DL; they went from a 4-2 start, with talks of the playoffs, to a 6-10 finish).

Theres no doubt hes a tough sob but hes's a drama queen. I dont put much stock in these streaks, its not always the best thing for the team, same with Ripken, there were days he should have sat and rested and he may have helped the team better.
