Favre very much wants to play and thinks he's physically capable of fending off NE rush.

i really think favre wasnt injured as much to begin with, but got spooked when chilly threatened to bench him and is now telling anyone who can hear that he is fine.

Off course he's gonna say he is fine. The guy's such a prick. The vikings are terrible for bringing this guy back.

Yet everyone panders to the wonder of Lord Favre. I can't stand his approach to football. Me me me me me.

I would love it if we could be the team to end his career.

Favre is gonna play. Until the game begins and the vikings trot their O out with #7 @ QB then I will believe he isn't playing, until then I wouldn't assume he isn't playing.

Here goes another Favre hate thread. Why don't you guys all go off and join up with one of the Jets boards where they are just like you.

Patriots fans shouldn't be like this. We follow a team that has been successful, we understand the joy that winning superbowls and going unbeaten in the regular season is like.

And because of all that success we should equally be able to respect a Quarterback who has always played well against the Patriots when he has come to New England.

And he is one tough mofo at the end of it all, as his consecutive starts record shows.

I used to think as you do, but then the guy showed his true colors over the past few years with his prima donna routine, which has long since gotten stale and not to mention his other extra curricular activities.

Favre is ruining his legacy.....

What an idiot

I am hoping Favre plays so we can knock him around. He isnt as mobile.

King Favre very much wants to play

Oh, His Majesty King Favre wishes to play, does he?

Well the Patriots will have suitable reception, I'm sure.

If you don't hate him fine.

But for those of us that do I think we're entitled to that opinion regardless of being Patriot's fans. However ... if you want to go that route then let's.

If Favre was a Patriot he would have to earn the job.

Nothing about his past would help him earn a start this Sunday.

His legend, his persona, his great pass once in every 5 attempts would mean nothing on this team.

His streak would also mean absolutely nothing on this team.

So strictly looking at Favre as a Patriot fan actually gives us who wish more reason rather than less to criticize him. Brian Hoyer could run a team better than Favre right now and he is on the bench every week.

Green Bay made the right decision to being on the Aaron Rogers era ... other teams have still failed to see it.

Favre is currently the 30th rated QB in the league ...
Earning him the distinction of being the most followed QB who sucks in NFL history.

10 INT's vs 7 TD's

One of 4 Qb's to have more INT's than TD's ... one of the others is McNabb. Another media binky.

But its his legacy to do with as he pleases, why should that bother you?

All public figures are subject to public scrutiny. Favre is free to do as he pleases as we are free to comment. No one is losing sleep over Favre's ego but it's the 800 lb gorilla in the locker room. I think most people (myself included) loved Favre up until a few years ago. It is not unreasonable to comment unfavorably about a legacy of unrelenting yearly retirement dramas, contempt for training camps/the given game plan and heaving game changing INTs. The contempt he showed his marriage by trying to bone an employee of his then team also took the shine of his reputation.

Can you really not think of any reasons why Favre bothers most football viewers?

If Favre doesn't get to play, he will retire. Then he will un-retire and sign with da Bears to replace Cutler next year to be able to get back at the Vikings who treated him so unfairly.

*Claps hands!!!!
This is by FAR the most respectable post I have seen since coming to this site.

I'll respect any man who has a record like his in Foxboro/Gillette Stadium.

You don't know that Hoyer could run a team better than him. Nobody knows that because Hoyer has not been put in that position yet.
Green Bay made the right decision to being on the Aaron Rogers era ... other teams have still failed to see it.
Nobody is saying they made a wrong decision. Aaron Rodgers is a top QB, they were right. What has this got to do with Favre? Thats all to do with Mike McCarthy and his coaching and decision making ability.

So going by what you are saying about the Patriots, you are suggesting that Brady would have been dropped if Favre was a Patriot last year because he was better going by numbers.

And last year he was the second best QB in the league over the entire regular season going on rating which is what you are doing. But you hated him last year too.

hahahahaha. if favre wasn't allowed to play this would probably be very close to the truth

I would love it if we could be the team to end his career.

I'm not rooting for it. I'm generally not a fan of wishing injury on another player, but for the record, if he makes it far enough, it will be the Giants that put the final nail in the coffin. They're knocking out starting QBs in their prime. That is one scary pass rush. I can't think of one that has been as destructive.

I don't like favre, but I would hate to see him get a career ending injury. The NFL wouldn't be nearly as fun without Favre. I was actually hoping he wouldn't retire. Let's hope he throws a few more memorable interceptions this week.
