National Football Post had an article on the subject today - though from reading the column they didn't seem to make it out to be that big of a deal.

Because the Ravens have talent to carry out any tips pees has...the broncos and browns and Chiefs and Dolphins are lacking more to do something with it

The Pats in 2009, under Pees, were one of the more aggressive defenses in the league when it came to the blitz.

If you like Pees (aka the minority on this board) then yes he may give them an edge as the Pats haven't changed 100% of their plays.

Though the Ravens are low in the league in sacks so Brady will probably do a lot of play action and go through his reads to find the open receiver like he does best.

I don't know how much Pees can give them that they can't figure out themselves. I assume Belichick will change calls and formations enough that Pees won't be able to pick them up easily from the sidelines or the booth. They might get some, but Belichick has tried to revamp the defense from last year a bit before this weekend.

I vote no. Both teams must be diligent to study whatever current films that are available.

Pees has some personal insights on player strengths and weaknesses, which could be helpful. But I wouldn't call it an edge.

The offense he practiced against is transforming their entire philosophy on the go. The defense he coached has a lot of young players who are growing and changing and improving. Many of his personal insights on young guys like Brace may be obsolete now as the kids start to grow and mature.

I'm more concerned about Ngata and Rice and Lewis and Boldin and Hoosh and a re-vitalized Heap than I am about Pees.

In particular if I was BB, I would be racking my brain for any play Pees had come up with while at NE, that BB said won't work and didn't get to run. Dean will be determined to run that play this Sunday to prove BB wrong.

Well, the Pees factor never gave us much of an advantage, so I'd say, "no."
