If someone had told you in August that by the season's quarter mark the Pats had lost Warren, Bodden, Faulk, and Kazur for the season, Welker wouldn't look quite like himself, they wouldn't have gotten anything out of Edelman, Fred Taylor was hurt (again), Moss was "reportedly" a distraction and traded for a 3rd rounder, Danny Woodhead was getting major snaps, Tom Brady was 18th in total passing yards being nearly doubled by Kyle Orton, Kyle Arrington was starting at CB and the D ranked 29th in total yards allowed what would you have predicted their record to be?

I would have said 1-3 (we just don't lose to Buffalo )

(For the record I hate the total yards stats, example number 1 team this year NYG 244 yds/gm allowed 98 pts allowed, Pats 385 yds/gm, 96 pts allowed.)

Nothing is truly accomplished until the big boys of the NFL enter the picture for the next month and a half....if we can even get through with a 3-3 Mark then the season is looking good....its just a brutal 6 weeks with the exception of Cleveland and I think the team MUST win its home games during this period.

Nothing is truly accomplished until the big boys of the NFL enter the picture for the next month and a half....if we can even get through with a 3-3 Mark then the season is looking good....its just a brutal 6 weeks with the exception of Cleveland and I think the team MUST win its home games during this period.

I'm not saying they have done anything yet however, they have played three solid teams and have not had a ton of things go right for them so far. For me personally, I get a real kick out of watching the "kids" figure things out. I had a smile ear to ear after watching Chung's performance last Monday, hopefully they continue to get better each week.

For most of those I would have thought you were lying. I think I would have believed in Brady Welker, Mayo, and possibly Tate and Hernandez. The rest I would have thought you were crazy.

Thanks, imagine if you did this for the Jets, would there be any negatives? Maybe McKinight didn't work out, Greene hasn't been great, Kris Jenkins, I can't think of much more pretty much everything has gone right there so far. Hopefully, they're due for some bad news.

Is the schedule as tough as you think or are you just going on perceptions and expectations. Here is the schedule for the next six weeks:

Baltimore (4-1)
@ Chargers (2-3)
Vikings (1-3)
@Browns (1-4)
@Steelers (3-1)
Indy (3-2)

Indy and the the Vikes have been decimated from injuries. The Vikes have one win and that is against the Lions. The Chargers have two wins in five games. The Colts have looked very shakey other than their wins against the schizophrenic Giants and the Broncos who have less defense than the Pats and no running game.

Based on this year so far, only the Ravens and Steelers really classify as the "big boys of the NFL'. It isn't 2009 anymore. The Vikings clearly are not what their 2009 team was. The Colts and Chargers don't look close to their 2009 selves either. Based on how everyone has played thus far this season, the Pats should be able to go 4-2 and with luck 5-1 (I think best case scenario unless this team really comes together is winning either Baltimore or Pittsburgh).

Based on what we have seen this year so far, the only big boys of the NFL the Pats have on the schedule are the Ravens, Steelers, and Jets (and Packers if they are healthy by the time the Pats play them).

On that list, Baltimore is going to be very tough. I honestly think we lose this one, but I'm hoping to be proven wrong as we're usually pretty good coming out of a Bye week and we're also pretty good at home. The Chargers game should be tough. They have a lot of talent, but Favre's tendonitis might help us out quite a bit. If we don't beat the Browns decisively, then we shouldn't expect to go anywhere this year. The Steelers look to be the class of the AFC at the moment and we're playing at their house vs. that defense. I would not be surprised if we come out of there with a loss. The Colts we're taking on at home. But let's be honest here, they always play us tough and have beaten us the last two years. On top of that, Manning knows us like we play in their division. It would also be pretty easy to lose this game.

If everything goes as planned, we could go 4-2 against that schedule. However, it would be just as easy to go 2-4. We shall see...

Although it looks like the difficulty of this portion of the schedule may have changed in comparison to how we saw it two months ago or six months ago, I still see it as a very difficult stretch of games that could easily go either way. Beyond the obvious of 'it could go 6-0 or 0-6', nothing beyond 2-4 to 5-1 would surprise me. All I see right now is five games against better than average teams that could go either way, plus a trap game against a coach with a lot of incentive and a good defense.
