Just curious if anyone knows his contract status.

I didn't want to create a new thread for this, but couldn't find another thread to really put it in.

Thanks.

I don't know and you shouldn't want him on the Pats.

Chad Ochocinco

According to Rotoworld, he's in the second-to-last year of his contract. Would definitely like to see him with the Patriots at some point; maybe the Pats can trade for him this offseason at value and extend him. Given his age, though, that would be risky. If the Pats were in the business of extending 33 y/o WRs, Moss would probably still be here.

Don't understand why anybody would want him on their team when he fades out in big games. In fact, I can't remember if he's ever made a big catch in his career.

Perhaps you and many others may not want him on the team. But, I've a feeling BB would love to get him, considering the numerous stories and articles about how much they respect each other and how well they get along.

Thanks for the answer BradyFTW!

To be fair, how many big games have the Bengals actually played in over the last decade? The last 2 times he played in the playoffs, he was covered by Revis one time, and the other he got a front row seat to the destruction of Carson Palmer's knee.

i don't see a real need for a super star WR that will only get Brady, more stats not win SB's the pats need defense

they alredy have one of the best WR's in the NFL in welker, and a rookie TE on pace for a 1000 yerd season in Aaron Hernandez, Brady has more talent to throw to right now even with out Moss, then he ever had on any of has 3 SB teams

so sign trade for or draft some DE's and OLB's and this team is set for a SB run

No offense to the OP at all, but must we have a new thread about every friggin reciever in the league?

Have you seen any Bengal games other than the one against the Patriots? Both Ocho and Palmer have been awful. The #1 on the Bengals is T.O.

I watched the Browns Bengals game last week, and Chad nearly cost Palmer an INT at the end of the game. Go watch the highlights this week, 2 of the INTs are to Ocho, one where the corner beat him, the other came off his hands. He looks done.

For the good, the bad and or, the ugly. I've always had the impression that Chad Ocho would play his last 2 or so years, in the league with the Patriots.
I wouldn't be surprised to see another "Moss type" draft day deal done.

In defense of the OP, Belichick and Ocho Cinco have had a great deal of mutual respect for each other for a long time. Who knows, perhaps before he retires he will spend a season as a Patriot. However, I find it extremely doubtful that it would happen this season.

This sounds like what many were saying about Randy when he was a Raider.

I don't think Chad is that great of a receiver these days. I would have to agree wtih those who said TO is the best receiver on that team. No thanks, I'd rather go with our youngins' at this point.

I'd like to see him on the Pats for a 3rd.

Chad is a good player but he's also a clown. I can't imagine him coming here.

You want to know the difference between Chad Ochocinco and Randy "I play when I want to play" Moss (and TO, Edwards, and the other diva WRs)?

Here is the difference:

Ochocinco wants to play for Bill Belichick. He has stated this many times. But he is too much the professional to force the Bengals to trade him. Moss wanted out of Minn, he wanted out of Oakland, he wanted out of NE, so he forced the team to trade him. TO same deal. Edwards batted balls down in practice.

But not Ocho. He has never done anything to intentionally sabotage his team. Okay, he has cost his team some stupid 15 yard penalties with this TD celebrations -- but that's it. He has never taken a play off, like Moss. Or trash talked his own QB, like TO. Never whinned TO was taking away catches from him or he hasn't gotten the ball enough.

TO is a child, and a clown. But he is team first. That is not something you can say about Moss.

Moss wasn't traded because he was 33 years old. He was traded because he isn't a team player and he didn't want to be a New England Patriot.

Moss didn't want to be a Patriot because they didn't try to extend him. You're putting the cart before the horse. And how in the world can you call TO a team player and Moss not one? As far as creating locker room drama, TO makes Moss look like an amateur.

I didn't call TO a team player. I lumped Moss, TO and Edwards together as non-team players.

And Moss didn't become an a-hole overnight. Go back and watch the PC of him after the KC win and other early season games of 2008. He most definitely wasn't a team player then.

I love Chad but pass, I think the guy is more interested in his celebrity career than NFL one at this point.
