Donte Stallworth? LMAO

Well, if they brought Brisby back, it would be less awkward when I wear his jersey and people ask me "Who's Brisby?"

More awkawrd: Terry Friggin' Glenn

This isn't going to happen. We are not going to get another WR.

This is BB's way of telling his young receivers: "I have faith in you. I think you guys can get it done."

By getting another WR and one that could be washed up, he would be sending a message to his young corp that he doesn't really have faith in them.

I'm hearing Sammy Martin's packing his bags for Foxboro....

Boy I'm glad you're not the GM. A 3rd is a valuable commodity to use to either trade one of our 1sts or 2nd UP for a top pick or to trade forward for a 2nd in 2012.

Sure it's a valuable commodity, but it's also one that can be used as a throw-away (not literally, but they don't need it, and have to do something with it).

Doesn't have to be a straight up either. Twig and 5th or 6th for a 3rd. I didn't necessarily mean straight up. My point was the 3rd was secondary to the trade with Randy cuz he had to go.

The idea that they don't need it so it shouldn't be valued is ridiculous.

You make sense. And I think you are probably right.

Listening to WEEI, they are saying rumor is Branch is coming back. That would be

Tree
Men
Does

Why would that be? I don't get it? He shot his way out of town and we are roasting Moss? We give up on a HOF receiver that made the rest of our WR core better for a return to yesteryear? Do that Pats fans have short memories? Do we need another midget WR? Do we want someone who has been slowed by injuries and will cost us $5m and is 31 years old? Does anyone here think Branch will stretch the field for Welker and our TE? Probably not.
We nail Moss to the cross and yet Branch was every bit as mercurial to seek the big pay day. I cannot believe you Cousins.
At the end of the day you need help for Tom Brady. We can't blame Moss for our defensive woes. He has not been here for the glory years of our defense. Was the Patriots offense more potent with Randy Moss? Absolutely. Did he want to get paid just like Branch, Bolden and many other WR who have the record for being the biggest divas of any position? Yes. Would you rather have the documented well beat up Branch for $5m or Moss for $8m. Do you want Aiken, Holt or Patten back? Come on ...please.

The only way to fix this is Jackson. Surprise...he is a diva too. Look, he wants a new contract. Pay the man and make stipulations where it cost him 75% of his salary with his next screw up. He'll walk the line if it cost him $6m.

Someone twitted Mankins and one of our seconds for Calvin Johnson......has our FO got enough balls to do that one? Yes I know Mankins has to sign his tender, but we hold his rights. Not a bad trade for either Team. One Young Pro-bowler for another plus a second. Detroit would have it's best lineman in Mankins. Buffalo for Evans would work as well. Both Teams are in trouble.

Finally, someone paying attention to what's behind Belichick's words and more importantly to his actions and lack of same.

So many posts here show that they have paid ZERO attention to Belichick's approach and style over the years with their fanboy reactions and fantasy football 'solutions'. Others more sophisticated forget in the heat of emotion that BB has said that the NFL is a dynamic environment, always changing and that football management approaches need to evolve. But substantive well grounded core values do not.

BB has flaws, makes mistakes but that's because he is a real person working in a deeply competitive environemt.

I love his approach with the young players. He seems energized by it too.

Yes, your right, we are gonna draft/sign 2 1's, 2 2's, 2 3's and 2 's next year so the pick is absolutely crucial for the future of the team. Even if they aggressively package picks for future years, they still have an abundance of draft picks and unlike dollar bills, there is such a thing as "too many" low picks in "salary cap" sport.

We're kind close to that.

Oh my...... Someone just twitted that BB traded all his draft picks to Miami for Ricky Williams, whose gonna be our new deep threat out of the backfield. :singing:

Terry Glenn probably has more ability than Branch at this point. "But Branch was good, like 6 years ago! It'll be for old-time's sake!".

Sure why not put an old crippled guy on the roster. It's not like it costs money, is a distraction, is a waste of a roster spot or is stupid or anything.

"How about it tom, do you think you can get me off the hook for old time's sake?"

Patten would be my guess. He was here in TC and all.

I would take it as BB thinking that he doesn't have full confidence in Taylor Price being ready to play split-end. He's really the only guy on the team that I think would be a natural fit at the position, with his skills. He just needs to learn to hone them in a bit more. Edelman, Welker, and Hernandez would all be hurt by taking them out of the slot. That's where they do the majority of their damage.

As for Branch, I've caught maybe three quarters worth of Seattle games this year. If it's him that's possibly coming back (personally, I don't think so, but still...), then I'd be excited about that move. For the first time in a long time, Branch looks healthy and appears to have his speed back. I saw him catch a 40 yard strike against San Diego a couple of weeks ago. If he comes back, that's a big deal for us. He can give Price a year to learn how to hone in his skills and absorb the playbook, and he can be a valuable split-end.

The logical guy is a vet, who knows the system, and who can lend stabilizing leadership, for this year only. My guess, to replace FHOF Moss is ... FHOF Tory Holt.

I hope gaffney or stallworth

News Flash fellow Pats fans: Deion Branch isn't that good.

He's not what he used to be, but he's a better option than Taylor Price at this point.
