Curran: Pats may add familiar receiver

I think Tate still has a lot more potential than Branch as a long threat... unless the idea is to bring in Branch as a backup for Tate + as a psychological gift to Brady.

Donald Hayes?

Branch will come to town for a 5th pick in 2011.

JJ Stokes?

ok last one

Here I go living life regularly, going to meetings at work, trying to recover from Moss, and now I hear Branch may be coming back?

Sweet Jebus...ok, I think I really need to step back, these 48 hours are starting to overwhelm me a little bit...

Bert Emanuel

I think you bring him in as a stable vet presence. It makes a ton of sense to bring him back. Either that or Gaffney.

Some guy named Seatleaddict just tweeted that Branch was scheduled to fly to Louisville, KY today and that's why he is at the airport.

God damnit, BB outsmarted by those pesty Louisville Sluggers again.

Branch would be perfect, he knows the concepts of the offense, he's Brady's bud and Seattle would give him up cheap with the young group, Tate, Williams, Butler ready to go.

Wouldn't it be funny if we traded the same #3 pick we got for Moss for Branch ? Winds up being a Moss for Branch trade. I wouldn't mind having Branch back, but he's basically a worse version of Welker, not a deep threat, at least, not anymore.

I think the stumbling block here is the compensation.

If your the Pats it would seem to have to be significantly less then the 3 you recieved for Moss. (5th, 6th, or 7th)

If your the seahawks why do you give away a player who has been producing this year for nothing. (is a 5th,6th, or 7th enough)

I think it would be nice to add depth to the position but I like the trio of Welker, Tate, and Edelman. With Price still learning and being the key back up. I would say Welker, Tate, and Edelman compare to Brown, Branch, and Givens but if you want to give a nod to the old school you have to give the nod to the new school TEs.

If Branch comes, he doesn't have to be a #1 receiver because it appears we are going back to the #1 receiver being the open guy. Besides, Tate and Hernandez can stretch the field.

Battle of the #83

Cedric Jones
Michael Timpson
Will Moore
Dietrich Jells
Deion Branch

I agree ... he just needs to catch a few balls a game and be part of the solution.

Branch is a worse version of pretty much every receiver on the team right now. He's terrible. His injuries have pretty much sapped all the speed and quickness he had. He's a shell of his former self.

He's not worth having on the roster, let alone giving up picks for.

SMY and Rapoprt are reporting the same thing on Twitter. SMY speculated Branch.

Is this some sort of psychic network thing, or is there an actual player?
