Merged again and again: I do/don't like the Moss trade because...

So because you made the mind-numbing leap that our squad last year wasn't SB bound, everything you write is the bastion of rationality?

Whatever.

No, but disagreeing with a bunch of homers who've elevated Belichick to divine status doesn't make one crazy either.

What's unbelievable is Moss is KNOWN for this. We got some great years out of him, but it's always a ticking clock thing with him. It always has been. But NO ONE here can seem to grasp that at all. Or worse, they say we should put up with it because he was awesome in 2007 for us. That's just bad business.

No, actually, what's unbelievable is that "Moss is KNOWN for this", yet the Patriots did nothing to head it off.

That's where the "bad business" comes into play.

Only the great Deus knows everything, can foresee everything and can make every right decision forever.

Can we please trade YOU

Deus u are making some great points. From all accounts i heard that Moss apparently told O'Brien to mix up the playcalling and try something new.I think BB has a big ego and u cant fault him for it since he has won 3 superbowls but its been awhile.

Everyone has a bad game at times. I guessed you missed the other 18 teams that they won and many of which were blowouts.

I saw them all and I also saw a team losing it's identity. No longer team. More into history books.

You never answered my question. When did you become a fan. 2001 or 2003? This would explain a lot.

Call me crazy - but I thought the play calling on Monday was actually one of O'Briens best efforts. Brady threw to a lot of different players. You know - "mixed it up" Apparently that mix did not have enough "randy" in it - regardless of the outcome.

Awful trade, awful awful awful trade. Hate it. We should at the very least shopped him a bit more, maybe looked for some defensive talent we could have picked up. Or hell, talked to SD about trading for jackson or something. I dunno I'm not in my right mind to logically discuss this. I think we got fleeced and I think this is going to cause more problems in the locker room than keeping him would have.

A good job?Did u watch the same game i watched? Most of the points came on special teams and a short field. They ran it more then i thought.I thought the playcalling was awful! To me O'Brien is a big negative in this coaching staff!

Moss trade info keeps getting better and better..

Adam Schefter reporting that Minnesota also getting 7th round pick in addition to acquiring Randy Moss...also possible rumor that BB sent a dozen Maine lobsters and a autographed hoodie to Brad "the negotiator" childress.......Boy I guess that heated exchange between moss and OB must have been really bad and he was becoming a real distraction/prob in locker room.....to make this move....

The Official "I'm happy Moss is gone" thread

No more worrying about Moss' emotions after having a crappy game... No more "Is moss dogging it"....

People have to realize we are setting up for the next 2 years. Does anybody realize how good this team is gonna be in 2 years.. Maybe even next year. The NFL should be scared.

What were we saying after week 3 in Buffalo. "This team sucks and is going no where"

To me. If they win the Superbowl thats gravy this year. I know they won't but the future looks awesome. Its a good time to be a pats fan.

This move is GREAT for Moss and the Pats. You know why?

Brady does NOT throw a good long ball.

Its true and the long pass has a lower chance of being completed vs short to intermediate throws which is Bradys forte. The Pats have been forcing the ball to Moss to keep him happy when other guys are open. No more.

Farve does throw a good long ball and I forsee Moss erupting for TDs vs the Jets.

'head it off'?

like they 'headed it off' with logan mankins? deion branch?

some players just wind up in that spot.

Both the Mankins and Branch situations could also have been avoided.

any situation can be avoided by simply yielding to demands and setting a precedent for other players to follow.

so what should have been done to 'head it off'? pay him?

Re: The Official "I'm happy Moss is gone" thread

Happy? I am not, but this has crossed my mind a couple of times. He was hard to defend, but with him, we were very predictable too on offense. I think Brady got enough of him during the Jets game, just speculation on my part here.
I want to know what the coaches will do to change stuff up in the Vikings games. Moss knows everything about us. He is very intelligent and that is where I worry.
I am curious to see how we will look from here on. Are we going to activate Jenkins?

at least he used to a few years ago. Favre's arm is not what it use to be. not even close

That's been covered before. You either extend him, or you trade him before the season begins and bring in a replacement.

Oh yeah? How so? You have all the answers, so please let us know how those situations could have been avoided. I guess the right answer is to just give them everything they want to ensure we have nothing but shiny, happy people on our team?

Re: The Official "I'm happy Moss is gone" thread

Yes I'm soooooo happy. Maybe we will be ready for another SB run when Brady is Favre's age.
