Rumor: Moss to Vikings?

No might about it, IMO. We would have had another ring with Branch. But it is what it is. Let's not compound what's happening here with Moss by throwing Branch into the mix. There's no need.

Well, of course there's no need, but I can't be the only one who said, we lost Branch but we grabbed Moss!! A SB with Moss would have put the Branch debacle all behind us. Don't mess with a winning combination.

The guy has played like a beast regardless of how many balls have come his way! He wants to feel wanted and get paid.

he's put up some pretty big numbers since he's left right? now if you said asante then i could have understood

Asante was on the team in 2006. And in 2007. The problem in 2006 was Reche Caldwell was our best WR.

PJ, I am with you on this one.

Also Adam Schefter is reporting a third for Randy to Minnesota, what is anyone hearing...i don't like this....

It does make you think that the Pats must have had no intention of retaining Randy past this year, he probably knows or guesses that (i.e no talks opened on an extension) and he wants out now

All of which maybe means they must be high on a top WR in next years draft

Tommy's gonna start thinking that his contracts jinx him. Look what happened after he signed his "home town discount" contract a few years ago? Givens and Branch were gone. Now, he signs again, and four weeks later, Moss is gone.

This kinda highlights the problems with these instant message boards and 24 hours news doesn't it.

This morning your read reports that Moss asked for a trade after week 1, so if thats true Tom knew before he resigned.

You read reports saying Moss and BB didn't speak at all yesterday, then all of a sudden they're meant to have had a war yesterday.

There's too many blanks in this whole thing that have been highlighted by the 3rd pick

Disagree. Because this brings TB into the mix too. They "lost" Branch and Givens after he signed his last contract. Now, they do whatever it is they're doing with Moss.

I woke up this morning thinking what a nice cool morning. Watching the local news to see Moss to be traded to the Vikings. A big shocker there, but look at the bright side, Brady cant favor Moss and he will spread the ball around a lot more. If we are trading Moss then i could see us going after Jackson. There was an article saying how much BB praised Jackson and he would be a great fit in new england. I would give up a 2nd and 3rd for him. Lets Git-R-done!!

If money was really what this was all about, then the sooner Kraft gives up control of the team, the better. I'm sorry, but shooting yourself in the foot for the 2010 season when you only have to pay the guy for 11 more games is just ridiculous. Like I said, I have to think (at this point) that something very bad happened behind the scenes.

Ross for a 3rd? Or could we say Moss for Shawn Crable! Moss for Tyrone Mckenzie! For Brandon Tate! Kevin O'Connell, David Thomas, Nick Kaczur, Ellis Hobbs! I think I am going to get sick.

I don't think that is a valid argument in profesional sports some people have more value to the cause then others.

Brady and Branch knew each other well. They were a good team, seperate the team and change your offensive system and of course he is not going be as productive.

That argument don't fly.

I understand what your dsaying. But the counter argument of "if he was here we would have... xyz" holds no water especially when compared to his play once left. That was all i was pointing out

Oh yeah. The Chargers love us so much that they'll help us out of a pickle with that trade. They'll want two 2's at least.

I just feel that discussing Branch opens up a whole new can of worms. We already have enough on our plates as it is with Moss going bye bye.

I love the guy, and I'll take player over management every day of the week, but if Randy can't even see out a 3 year deal without feeling unwanted and underpaid then it's a situation that's just gonna keep recurring down the line.

I can't wait until someone comes out and actually confirms whether or not something happened behind the scenes with Moss and the team. So far, it's been a ton of hearsay. However, with that said (and do remember that I am against the trade), if Moss became a "cancer" behind the scenes, then people should remember what BB told him in his first meeting with the team.

With that said, though, BB has also put up with a lot from him over the last year or so. If something happened between the two, it must have been pretty bad.

I believe that Moss was never going to get resigned. Based on the current team, the pats simply need to get out of the quick-strike mentality and return to 3 yards and a cloud of dust in order to keep the defense off the field for longer periods of time. There will still be plenty of opportunities for brady to justify his contract.

I think the moss move has been a concept for awhile now. I think the rookie TE's have progressed faster than planned.

I also think this move really completes taking the 'I' out of team. Not that Moss has not been a model citizen as I believe he turned out better than any of us anticipated, but it is time to get back to spreading the ball around.

the other part of this question was 'how much more pounding can welker take with the way the current offense was designed?'

they will have 2 weeks to get back to a dink and dunk offense that will be much more dynamic than the last one given the abilities of our young TE's

Alright. But, i still doubt that Tom Brady is a happy camper with this.

We have the ammo to do so. Also, That top 10 first round pick by the raiders we get i am sure that BB is going to trade out of the top 10 to pick up a later 1st and another 2nd.

jackson has his own off the field issues...

Irrelevant. He's, what, 33? Same age as Brady. Today is his "down the line." He's looking for one more big bucks contract and trying to maximize its value.
