they tweeted this after one of the INT's
Where's everyone going? "The party" is just getting started at Sun Life Stadium. #fb
breer seems to have a problem with it

From a player's Twitter account, definitely. Love that stuff. But from a billion-dollar business' account? Not the same thing

And they keep doing it! Kinda classless.

this tweet has even made the AP news story for the game

what do you guys think? a little over the top for an official team account ?

Pats destroying the LOLphins in their own personal house of horrors?

I wouldn't care if Kraft decided to moon the LOLphins on twitpic.

Breer is in Miami right now isn't he? I hope he gets shot.

Fixed it.

Though I personally don't care, I can see how that kind of thing might be perceived as classless. LaClassian would not approve.

I wouldn't say that.

I'll just nod along quietly.

Breer sucks at his job.

Well that's pretty harsh.

I dunno, I don't see what the big deal is. Naturally reporters are hostile to anything re: the Pats' official twitter feed, since it completely bypasses them. It does their job without dealing them in. I can see why it would make them uneasy, and I guess I can see why a 'purist' would take issue with it, but I don't see what the problem is. If the Pats decide that it's not in alignment with the image that they want (and it very well might not be), then it won't happen again. Regardless, it's not even in the same ballpark as players or coaches making asses of themselves, so who really cares?

Haha, you haven't seen harsh.

Personally, I think a Tweet like that is really unnecessary. Then again, I'm not a big fan of gloating in general anyway.

If this was the Jets twitter we'd all be screaming to have them removed from the league, I'm disappointed in the franchise actions with this and hopefully it was someone in the franchise running rogue with the twitter and this gets sorted out.

Jets employees (after all, the person managing the Pats' twitter acct. is just another employee, or maybe a contractor) say more incendiary stuff than that on a near-daily basis. Still don't get what the huge deal is, except I guess that people think it was The Organization that tweeted that.

Of course it wasn't: it was just another person, who doesn't represent the team any more or less than the players on the field, the coaches, the front office, the marketing dept, or anyone else. Just another consumer-facing employee. I can see why some people would take issue with it, but I don't at least partly because it's not characteristic of the Pats. We'll see if it happens again, and that'll tell us how the Pats felt about it.

Breer really needs to keep his emotions in check, especially if he is going to become a national report. Obviously he is a bit bitter at having a bit of egg on his face like much of the media after this one. But he should know that a tweet from some PR staffer isn't some carefully crafted press release. It is hardly an official statement. In fact almost all Patriots players, coaches and others go out of their way to compliment the Dolphins, but one innocous tweet makes them "classless". Meanwhile, the Jets Organization as a whole can pretty much say anything they want and its "fresh" and "honest". I don't typically pick on Breer but that was a douche move.

Breer is a jerk. He can't help himself when it comes to saying something - anything - negative about the Patriots. So, some young kid who's task (as a Pat employee) is to post via social media gets excited about a team win? Big deal.

Go eat a dirty diaper, Breer. SOOOOO glad today is your last day covering Boston sports. Buh-bye. Wish you nothing but failure.

Yes let's continue to pretend that they aren't PLAYING a football GAME. I mean having fun? No place for that. I'm confident that the Patriots' "consumers" are very fine with their tweeting

Ummmmm, it's twitter.............. Not an official presser or anything.

Can anyone say "manufactured outrage".

Breer over-reacted and I'm disappointed to say I won't miss him.*

That said, I was surprised to see those Tweets on the official Pats Twitter last night. Struck me as quite a departure from their usual tone. As the official corporate voice, I think they should leave the spontaneous mocking of beaten opponents to the players. Let's face it, Troy Brown et al doing "lights out" in the tunnel after SD and Rodney flapping his wings in SB39 were just funnier.

*On Breer, it's tweets like this:
I know it sounds silly, but take away big special teams plays, this is very close game. Still think teams are close.

Yes, "Bert," it is silly. Let's imagine roles were reversed, Dolphins did everything the Pats did and Miami won. Next day you and Felger are on the radio and a Pats fan calls in and says that. Odds are you shred the fan, correct? Rightly so. And you guys probably call the fan a "footy pajamas" fan and tell him "You can't 'take away' the plays that happened. .. Stupid blind Pats fans. ..."

The issue I have with statements like this is that people don't take into account that scoring on special teams and on defense takes away possessions from your offense. Do people really think we would've only scored 14 points on offense it those plays didn't happen? Jesus, this guy is a professional sportswriter, he should know better.

I wonder what kind of fine that would carry?

we're getting a little off topic here but this is a point I was hoping to make as well. Nicely put.
