Faulk is replaceable. I said it again.

seriously I like this guy and now he gets his chance Let us hope we have found an equally capable Faulk type player.

He is a young guy as well....... just sayin

Re: Woodhead proves that.....

I think the IR rules allow the player to stay around witm the team and i am hoping that Faulk is right there with Woodhead teaching him everything he knows

Re: Woodhead proves that.....

I though the OP was going to say it's not how big you are it's how you are used

I was fooled

Re: Woodhead proves that.....

How dare you say that, we only signed him to get information for the Jets game, remember?

Re: Woodhead proves that.....

I think we are jumping the gun saying the best 3rd down back in the NFL for almost 10 years, is replacable because of a handful of plays.
I like how Woodhead looks, but lets not get carried away.

We arent comparing Ninkovich to McGinest tonight are we?

Re: Woodhead proves that.....

Woodhead did a small part of what Faulk can do. We didn't see him make a block or make a first down through the air. Those are two huge steps before you call Faulk replaceable.

I thought we were comparing him to Vrabel?

Faulk is irreplaceable. His role in the Patriots Offense is replaceable.

Re: Woodhead proves that.....

next lets try replacing Tom Brady with Trent Edwards... he'll do fine...

Faulk is awesome but we really should start to look for his replacement because he is not going to be around forever. Woodhead did a good job tonight all the same.

Re: Woodhead proves that.....

Quote from a Dolphins forum game thread during the game-

are the patriots cloning short shifty white guys or what? Who the hell is this

the edelman false start on the clear patented faulk direct snap for the 2 pt play shows that faulk isnt entirely replaceable...

a td through the air doesnt count?

Re: Woodhead proves that.....

Of course he doesn't replace Faulk. No one is as light on his feet catching and cutting as Faulk.

He is a bit more of a power runner (for a little guya), something Faulk isn't at all.

I say a bit more because I'm yet to be convinced we have speed and power at RB between our current two young players. If Fred Taylor isn't healthy, you're going to have to show me week to week, but our running game was OK today.

Well, I think a touchdown reception will do nicely as a stand in for a receiving 1st down. I don't think Brady fully trusts him yet as a receiver, but based on his Chadron State numbers we know he can catch the ball, he has a ton of elusiveness, and he's smart enough to pick the offense up in two weeks. He may never be as great as Kevin -- who is my favorite Patriot -- but I think he'll do fine as a receiver once he's on the same page with Brady.

He was in for almost all the Faulk plays tonight and obviously did more than OK. I *did* see him pick up a blitzer, but I also saw him not chip a DE on his way out to the flat in a situation where Vollmer could have used some help. Faulk would have definitely chipped there. Woodhead's pass blocking is the big remaining question, but the kid definitely is stepping up...

He very well may be better than Faulk at the draws, or the receiving plays, but we've yet to see him pick up a blitz. Which is the big thing.

Re: Woodhead proves that.....

Let's start erecting Woody's shrine in Canton!
JK, the kid is good though, huh?

Fail- Faulk and Woodhead do some similar things, but they're very different players. It's a lot like comparing Welker to Edelman.

Well, I never saw McGinest get 2 interceptions in one game.:scared:
J/K Willie Mac was a beast and Nink would have a very long way to go to replace him in all our football hearts.

Re: Woodhead proves that.....

no way. He ll be a good adition, but Faulk is irreplaceable .

But IMO he has lost some bursts and first step this year, IDK, he seemed more slow... I supposed that is the age and the hits
