Moss Postgame Presser Meltdown

No Patriots fan I know wants him to fail. Some media, sure, but I think most fans want the Pats to succeed and that means fans want Randy to succeed.
To assert anything less is ridiculous.

Shut up Moss. The more you talk the more this is going to be a controversy. I liked him better when he didn't talk to the press. Play out your year and we all can move on.

Well he said he's done with the media, so that shouldn't be an issue.

He in my opinion is referring to all the pats fans who said he was dogging it last year and who jump on him as being a dog faker e.t.c every time he has a bad game.

What i got out of the interview was he wants to be here, the team is seems hasn't wanted to talk about it and he has taken that as they don't want him here. I just think he wasn't very good at expressing himself in his little rant

Florio has the entire transcript up, and honestly, you guys trashing him REALLY seem to be off base. He comes across, *TO ME*, as an emotional guy who really dislikes the media. He just wanted to get things straight (wants to be here, wants to feel the love) since he will not be talking to the media again. If there is one thing I can appreciate, it's honesty. And Moss speaks his mind. Good for him.

Hey Mr. Kraft: PAY THE MAN

this, I don't think any one Patriots player got more crap than Moss last season.

He just made whatever his problem is exponentially worse. And he clearly can't grasp that. He was never a fit for this team for that reason, whether he was largely great for the offense or not...

The dig at Kraft was above and beyond. He has taken a great opening game win in his contract season and made it irrelevant... All anyone will be talking about this week is the insecure, nutjob WR...

I agree with the first sentence. If only you'd stopped there

it's on NFLN now, or at least parts of it. What I'm listening to seems to be more about hating the Boston media than anything- I assume the contract stuff is coming next.

At least as far as the fans and media go, I agree with him: some people want to see him fail, and I dunno why. Still a bad move on his part, though, even acknowledging it.

Honestly, after the buildup on this thread, I didn't think it was all that bad. He wasn't very disciplined, and he shouldn't have said it, but the mistake that he made was being way too forthcoming. As a private sentiment, nothing that he said would bother me at all.

Nothing that he said was any worse than what Wilfork was publicly saying just a few months ago.

Now that I listened to the interview, I agree. Most of his ire seemed to be directed at the local and national media. But still, don't air it out. Tell the press that it was a good win for the team and move on. Nothing good can come out of airing your dirty laundry to the press, as we've seen in the case of Logan Mankins and Bob Kraft.

I only read it, I didn't see it. Sure doesn't seem all that bad in print.

My interpretation of Moss:
He's a very emotional person, and might have some psychological issues (perhaps depression).

My interpretation of what Moss was trying to say:
He wants to be with the Patriots for the rest of his career. He wants to have contract extension talks with the patriots. He feels he's given the Pats their money's worth with his production so far. And he wants the Patriots to want him. But they haven't shown any signs of being interested in having him beyond this year. So he's just going to play his hardest this year. And once the season is over, he may go to the highest bidder -- he's not necessarily going to give the Patriots a discount if they make him wait until free agency before offering a contract.

If my interpretation is correct, I have no problem with what Randy said. I do think his agent, or whoever his trusted friends are should've advised him to keep his thoughts to himself and to BB, and away from the public.

In pantheon of "bad guys/bad teammates" Moss doesn't register. He's just the Sun in his own little universe. No concept of how comments play

Jesus. You F****** Girls here are worse than the media.

I read the transcript, and it sounds like he is referring more to the media than he is anything else. That and some chicken**** fans that wouldn't have the ***sack to say some of the things they say to his face.

He ain't "clinically" depressed. He isn't causing a distraction. He just has an odd way of relaying his thoughts.

Go read the transcript. Stop being such drama queens ie; "meltdown....needs a shrink......distraction...etc".

Moss is fine and will be paid sooner rather than later. A majority of you, on the other hand, need a box of tampax.

Yeah, between that how ESPN's frontpage article framed it, this might not go so bad. Also, not to pimp myself too hard, but I'm having a member of the local media on PatsCast tomorrow, so we'll definitely get another take out of that.

I saw some of his presser on NFL network: not bad as you guys made it seem.

Seems like he's just venting against the media and expressing his desire to stay here. THis isn't as big as deal as some folks will make of it.

Ok just watched it....not a big deal. I guess since it wasn't typical "Pats Speak" its a major disruption. He wants to be here and realizes it probably wont last past this year, where is the earth shattering news.

I only read it, I didn't see it. Sure doesn't seem all that bad in print.

Same here.

He basically said "There's going to be some bad PR around this, so let's get it over with. Among my several reasons for getting it over with, one is that I actually do want to sign a new deal with the Patriots.

Given that Moss has the anti-talent of looking bad in the media, I don't think it was a terrible choice, or that the choice says much that's bad about him.

Kraft was recently quoted as suggesting that the Patriots wound up signing the guys who really want to be here. Moss just suggested he's in that group.

And if Moss has just started a ticking clock on the Patriots' chance to re-sign him -- well, when better to do that than a few days after the Brady deal gets done??

Just read the transcript and to me he is calling out the media, nothing more. Seems clear to me that he wants to be a Patriot.

Besides, I completely agree with him about the local media. Boston media sucks, specifically the columnists. Those @$$hats like Shaugnhessy, Borges, Mazz, etc. love to write controversial columns that get people's attention. F those douches.

Hahaha, I assumed that I missed a part of the PC at first because that was all that I took from it, too. Sure, he did say that he'd like the team to show that it wants him around, and... he said that he wanted them to sign him sooner rather than later, and... that's about it. I don't get why there are some people here going apoplectic over this. These comments don't even show up on the Mankins scale. 90% of his anger was directed at the Boston media, which is a pretty common sentiment around here anyways.

Indeed. I'd love to round them all up and push them off a bridge then bring in some journalists that don't make their living crapping on the teams constantly. How many players have these tools run out of town over the years? Does that happen anywhere else?
