Said he understands it's a business but part of being a business is being honest. Said he thought they had a better relationship than that at USC and didn't expect that from Pete.

Taylor Mays asked Pete Carroll what he should work on to improve his draft status and get ready for the NFL and basically Pete told him he was fine.

Mays then was asked to elaborate on the reason for his beliefs regarding Carroll. "Just in terms of, I didn't have anything to worry about, that my game was OK, that my backpeddaling was fine . . . my tackling was fine. It was all things that I asked -- what I needed to work on, what I needed to show. I was kind of led to think that I was going to be OK. You know, it is what it is and I'm so happy to be with the 49ers on a team that Ronnie Lott played on."

Hmm.. sounds to me like a bitter kid who doesn't take responsibility. What the kid also doesn't seem to understand is that just because your coach sees something in you, doesn't mean that the scouts saw Earl Thomas as being BETTER at those things than you.

To me, it sounds like he coasted instead of continuing to work on the things he should have been working on..
