Per PFT on Twitter: Philly sends 5th rounder to Denver, which sends Scheffler and 7th to Detroit, which sends Ernie Sims to Eagles.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that a three-way trade will send linebacker Ernie Sims to the Eagles, tight end Tony Scheffler to the Lions, and an undisclosed draft pick to Denver.

It seems that there has been an increase in trades this year...

Wow, good for Ernie Sims. So, McDaniels has now unloaded a trio of discontented players in Cutler, Marshall and Scheffler for just a truck load of picks. Talk about cleaning house. I see this as a good deal for Denver and Philly. Detroit is just getting a guy who not only didnt wanna be in Denver, but now doesnt wanna be in Detroit, either.

Thats first thing I thought, they drafted Pettigrew(sp?), so Scheffler is going to sit behind him, just what he wants

I think this has more to do with questions surrounding Pettigrew's knee than anything else.

Scheffler for a fifth? Wow. Say......... I know a Team that needed a pass catching TE to go with the blocking one they just picked up so they won't have to waste a high round pick in the Draft.

How many of you Cousins will inspect the wrong end of a gun barrel for working order, if the Pats go after Gresham or "Kronk" in the Draft in the first or second round? How about the oft injured Moeki in the 4th some Cousins would take? Yikes.

Once again a miss (Why a miss ? 27 Years old and 138 receptions in 4 years and 14TDs and a 13.7 YPC average for a fifth rounder???.....and NFL Proven unlike any Draft pick)........Has anybody called Gillette to see if the phones are working?

Scheffler can't block and he's a cry-baby. There's no way Belichick would have wanted guy on the team this year.

Why didn't your boys at Jets' headquarters step up and get a deal done?

I've questioned their moves in the past couple months, but Philly really makes out here getting Sims for next to nothing.

Didn't you know? BB checked out Sims his draft year and obviously would have drafted him in the first if Detroit hadn't taken him.

Ah, I didn't realize Pettigrew had a knee issue. That does make it a little less questionable.

I wouldn't be up in arms for not getting some of these players Denver is shipping out. WE run the same system and look for the same type of player. McDaniels is clearing house and getting rid of players who don't buy into the sysem. If they don't buy into Denvers system, then they aren't going to buy into our system.

Scheffler is known to have a lazy work ethic..

Detriot needs as much talent as they can get.. Plus, as someone mentioned, their rookie TE from last year has a bad knee
