im a big fan of arthur jones, and i think he may even have more. up side then Odrick, but Odrick. is a day one starter for the next 10 years.
ill be happy with sergio kindle, in the first and and jones in the 2th
How about Ray Edwards in the first and Haynesworth or Brandon Marshall in the second?
Which group of players will help the Pats be better in 2010 from day 1, Kindle and Jones or either of my ideas which are IMO?
Mine cost more but are NFL ready, still young and limited chance of a bust.

Alas poor Odrick, I knew him, Horatio.
What is so great about Odrick? He's also from veritable bust-ville, PSU.
I think those two guys will be better at holding the point.
And the great thing is, of course, that they can be had much cheaper than a 1st round pick.

Add in Lamarr Houston and you may have a case. Jones is athletic but it didn't turn into production. Woods is a big man, but really couldn't utilize it fully on the field.
Jones college stats: 44 games, 145 takles, 38.5 TFL, 6.5 sacks
Odricks college stats: 46 games, 104 tackles, 25.5 TFL, 14.5 sacks
I'd say Jones was as productive as Odrick. And from what Ive read, Jones was double teamed alot.
To qualify a bit, Jones sophomore and junior seasons were very productive. He senior season less so, and missed about half the year with injuries. He was double teamed virtually every play on the interior.
Most of Odrick's stats were accumulated his senior year. He played with much better talent around him. There's good and bad that goes with that.
Why is it that you continue your garbage rant about PSU. It was proven to you that the idea that PSU provides only busts was a figment of your imagination. Yet you continue to post it.
You can think that Jones and Woods will be "better at holding the point" but what proof do you have? I know Ochmed mentioned that Odrick didn't have a great game against LSU. But he still managed to have a 16 yard sack.
Yes, it is about value. But where the Patriots list the value is something you and I will never know.
but then you have to account fro what it will cost the Pats to attain each player. Odrick, the 22nd. Jones, a late 2nd at best. With a trade down probably a 3rd. The thing I like about Jones is that he has been decribed as a player who never gets knocked around or psuhed of the line. He is a former wrestler, and his biggest assest is how he uses his leverage and his hands. I cant see any DE the Pats could get who could be a constant threat to sack the QB. Id take a DE who can get constant penatration. Which is a term that has been used to describe Jones.
