Brandt: Tebow will go in the twenties

Doubt it. Why would Tebow (who is considered the 4th best QB in the draft) go in the 20's? I'm sure every team will pass on him at least once before he's chosen.

So he has the guy I heard him call Tom Tebow no less than 5 times going in the 20's. Interesting. He also has Tebow becoming President of the United States one day too. Gil can be the ultimate hype machine for a prospect.

I guess that will make him a 4th rounder since Chicago has no early picks.

Seriously, you might at least put quotes around comments taken directly from nfln.

Why would Tebow be draft early? Perhaps because there are many teams who want to develop a quarterback the old fashioned way, with two years of development. Drafting Tebow in the first would allow a five year contract. There are several teams willing to take 2-3 years to develop a quarterback. I could see MINN or even INDY drafting him.

Brandt has been and is one of the best minds in pro football,I certainly see the possibility of a team drafting Tebow in the lower stages of round 1,but I see this being involved in a trade ....in other words, the team who drafts Tebow will have already made a first round pick,Tebow could be drafted by the team that moves back up in the first round to take him....

I would not be surprised in NE were the team to give up thier #22 spot in a trade down to another team to be able to draft Tebow,it does not make sense why a team would not wait, but stranger things have happened.

Just what I was thinking. If Brandt is correct, here comes yet another 2nd and a 3rd for BB to play with - BWAAAhahahah!

Because teams reach for QBs in the first round. It always happens, JP Losman in 2004 is a great example, Josh Freeman from Tampa is the best, most recent one. Both were guys that had absolutely no business being 1st round picks but teams get a boner for these guys for some reason and overpay to move back into the draft to grab them.

I wouldn't mind being on the receiving end of some teams irrational Tim Tebow wet dream when they try and move back into the first round to grab him.

K brah? I would think it would be obvious that I don't mean teams that don't have picks in the first rounds of the draft.

Yeah, and I'll start posting a bibliography along with every post if you want.

Yeah, a team may do that but this is a deep draft with good players available in the first round aside from Tebow that could make a much earlier impact. And are we all forgetting about Colt McCoy? Grab him instead of Tebow If you want a QB to develop. I think it would be ridiculous for the Pats to take Tebow in the first round because there are so many other options. I also feel the same way about other teams that are picking. Hey, If they want to blow a 1st round pick on a high bust rate QB, then I say go for it.

tebow in first isnt happening. 2nd or third. I wouldnt draft him until at least the mid of 3rd round.

To be clear, I would NOT draft Tebow as a patriot in the first two rounds. If I were Minny, I would consider both McCoy and Tebow at 30. Given the dropoff in QB talent after these, I expect both to be gone by 44.

And yes, we are a potential trade partner, but there are likely to be several other teams willing to trade down for the right price. IMHO, we should be the ones looking to trading UP to get a second second first round pick at 21 or 23.

The reality is that there are many teams who would like a developmental quarterback. There are two highly rated ones available. There are no guarantees in any round. After all, we failed in our use of a 3rd to get a developmental quarterback.

I could see that happening too. Maybe get a 2 and a 3

Yup. Teams with a dire need talk themselves into a player and imagine away his weaknesses. Look at the Patriots and tightends.

The whole Tebow issue is so bizarre and hard to gauge. My gut tells me he slides to the third (but what do I know). My gut also tells me that Dez Bryant slips to the second round...

Sure we could trade 22 for a 2nd a 3rd and even get a 5th. But we could do that by trading down in the 2nd with our 44.

I could see that happening too. Maybe get a 2 and a 3

im with u on this

Brandt is a hype-Meister.... Tebow will also cure cancer, be the first man to walk on Mars and accurately predict the end of the world... sheeeesh!

I hope someone does reach for him right before our pick.

I hope he reaches 22 and the Patriots can sucker some sap into giving up a bunch of picks (2 & 3?) for him. Jax?

I'm 100% with you on that. It's me draft -dream........

BTW: We already own Jax's second rounder.

If there are no more quality D Linemen available at #22, and some team drafting between #22 and #44 wants Tebow badly enough,I fully expect BB to bleed them, hopefully for more than a 2nd and 3rd.

presumably for a 2nd, 3th and 5th

I seriously beg to differ. His words only carry weight with some people because he was probably the best talent evaluator in the biz 25 years ago.

The stuff he writes on NFL.com is absolute garbage. The game has definitely passed him by. If Tebow is taken shockingly early (like second round) a lot of the reasons for it will have nothing to do with football.
