What surprises me?

Belichick is 58??!!!

Dang, I thought he was 52-55.

That's a bummer.

I see him going out with Brady.

Nice to see Moss in Foxboro. I'd rather not talk about Belichick's age as it just depresses me.

58 shiittt

he looks 5 years younger at least.

I find it interesting that BB will lead the defensive meetings. I wonder if he'll call the plays. That would be a big shift of his in-game responsibilities and would probably make him less effective as an overall decision maker. Another option would be for him to delegate play calling responsibilities to the asst coaches on a weekly basis, sort of having them audition for the job.

Either way, I'm not so worried about the D with BB coaching them. I'm more worried about the offense with BB spending less time there.

what did you guys think? he was defensive coordinator for the giants super bowl win nearly 24 years ago and was also on ted marchibroda's staff for the colts in the 70s. i'm surprised he's this young. i don't think he's going to retire any time soon. i can see him coaching until he's 70.

Well, I watched those games in the 70s and 80s, and I turned 40, so...

was hoping he only had 15 years on me since I graduated HS in the mid 80s.

Agreed. Brady retiring is like losing a major battle. When BB retires, the war is lost.

Am I allowed to be this optimistic?

if you are running a team with a effective payroll of 100 MM+, why not just pay a good defensive coordinator (read: romeo) a healthy salary and do what you do best: head coach?

So yea, i was on vacation for all the coordinator posts, but you have to admit if Belichick is running up and down the side line telling McGowan to get in there for Sanders or whatever, how the heck can he communicate with Ernie Adams and all the guys in the booth that are advising him on how to manage a game?

If BB retires from the field, he will probably go to the front office in another capacity.. Kraft will probably take very well care of him.

Hopefully the defense will take a step forward this year. The offense should be fine if Brady bigger role in the play calling. Maybe we'll see a switch to a no huddle offense this year? Would help combat blitzing teams.

I would love to see Belichick as GM after he's done coaching.

I hope so, BB could go down as the greatest coach of all time, next to Lombardi. I hope one day there is a Belichick trophy/award in the league.

Superbowl 60. "We now present, the Lombardi-Belichick Trophy.

He is going to do that, a.k.a. Parcells. I don't think he is (or hope he won't) going to hop around the league collecting fees for resurrecting franchises.

It will never happen now since Spygate broke.

Is Moss going to be offensive coordinator again?

Pass to Moss. No Welker, so another pass to Moss.
