Just reported that Crumpler will be in town in a few hours to visit the Pats

I loved this guy in Atlanta and think he would be a perfect fit in this offense

Hope he leaves town with a contract, this guy can block with the best of NFL TEs

intriguing indeed

He used tobe a big name TE in Atlanta. Is he still that good?

I wonder if he'd be all that better than Chris Baker

Not really. He also looks like a bit of an, erm, fatass these days.

That said, he's better than any TE currently on the roster.

Blocking tight end at this point. Much cheaper than Chris Baker IMO. Sign Mr. Algernon.

Found this on wiki

On August 9, 2009 in the Titans first pre-season game, Crumpler weighed in at 312 pounds; gaining an estimated 30 pounds during the offseason.

Quite an offseason!

A 300 lb tight end? Geez, well there's your JUMBO package guy! LOL. Seriously though, he needs to cut his weight down to at least 275 to be considered. If we want him only for his blocking skills, well his bigger size would be a plus as long as he can still MOVE adequately.

With Tennessee last season Crumpler topped the scales at 312 Pounds....Hopefully he lost about 40 pounds by now,He needs to get smaller or become an OL

I think Tennessee didn't want him, especially being the goat of the playoff game against the Ravens in 2008 when he fumbled and cost the Titans the game.

But still with a little weight management this guy is a solid TE

Was good in Atlanta and not good in Tennessee. I doubt we'd be getting the Atlanta version.

good blocker. and maybe could catch a few balls. ill take him.

Not exactly a glamorous move but seems to make a lot of sense - Baker's lack of involvement in the passing game meant he was essentially a blocking TE anyway, so Crumpler fills that void (and more, probably), adds another good locker-room guy and leader (by all accounts) and presumably comes pretty cheap.

I'm remarkably neutral about this guy. I keep trying to have an opinion but I'm coming up short.

So, my official stance: This would give us one more TE on the roster. That's all I feel comfortable saying.

Not a big fan but we need a t/e so if we get him its good.

He was big enough last season to be two more TEs on the roster.

Put him on the OL to back up/replace Kaczur if Alge can't lose weight

If signing Crumpler will keep us from drafting a TE in the first 2 rounds, I say......

Sign the Beast !
