No Peppers is a good thing

it's semantics. Jets backed into the playoffs as well...so getting Peppers would of solidified our run defense?

that wasn't the point.......the point is right now, who's the better team, the jets or the pats? who was the better team at the end of the season?

who cares if the jets backed in??? the did not look like total fools in the playoffs

I think if the Patriots and Jets had played in the playoffs, more often than not the Patriots would have won.

Ok LT

If the Chargers and the Pats played 10 times the Charger would win 9....

The Jets were/are the better team. We have better individual players in some areas but as a team they are better

Is this with or without Welker?
Our offense without Welker would have struggled to score double digits on that defense IMO.

Since we are playing the conjecture-game, in this supposed match against the Jets would Brady be playing with three broken ribs and a broken finger?

Talk about baseless.

We have Tom Brady, the Jets have Mark Sanchez. In the NFL this kind of disparity in QB quality is more than enough to overcome the rest of the roster's apparent inferiority.

apparent?

another homer

I was just thinking about this, and I'd have to go with Welker included.

bend and twist what ever way you like.....you are currently in denial

ok.....spoken like an ultimate homer.......carry on

So in other words, you can't even attempt at addressing the point, and as a result expose yourself for what you are.

Good day.

I missed it....did you make a point somewhere?

the jets looked like they belonged in the playoffs....the pats did not

if, after watching the playoffs, you still think thepats are in a better place, then there's nothing anyone can say to you ......... you have no point nad you know it

that makes you a homer......just admit it and carry on

Calm down, guys. There's no Lombardi awarded for the postseason or the Pats would have clearly won it landing Taylor, Galloway, Baker, etc. within the first few days of free agency. Until you find out how these big name free agents actually pan out, they are still that, just big names.

The Pats can use the money they didn't spend on Peppers to resign Wilfork, extend, Brady, maybe retain Bodden, etc. All they missed out on was one big name player. He is NOT the sum of all talent in the NFL. There's still plenty of talent left in the ocean and a little thing called the NFL Draft, coming up.

Don't count on it

Brady is great but in all likelihood he has 5 or less years of "his prime" left

The Pats need to make a push now

Why? I know medical technology and strength and conditioning programs were better in the 90s than it is today (ok, people don't recognize my sarcasm so I am giving a sarcasm warning).

Brady wants to play into his 40s and there is no reason to believe he cannot be a top QB in this league until close to his retirement. Eventhough he has a strong arm, his strength as a QB is his mind which means he can play at a high level into his late 30s barring injuries.

I expect the Patriots to, once again, be better than the Jets in 2010.

and what do u base that on jack? We have a better QB that's about ot
..at this juncture jests team to beat in afc east

Yes, and you deliberately sidestepped it because you lack the desire or ability to formulate a cogent response.

I'd rather be a homer than a doom-and-gloomer and a constant pessimist.

Good luck with that.

Well, they did beat the Jets a month earlier and soundily. Granted Welker was playing then, but the reason the Pats won that game was the defense slowed down the run and turned Sanchez into a turnover machine.

There is no juncture, we are at an arbitrary point in time during the offseason where rosters are FAR from set. Arguing what team even LOOKS better exactly as is means pretty much nothing.

I'm confident based on a decade of data, that the Patriots will field a competitive team and once again win the division.

Unfortunately for you and your ilk, this juncture is utterly irrelevant when considering who is the team to beat in the AFC East.

talk about twisting and saying nothing.....

It always amazes me how supposed fans of this team moan and groan and declare that this team is toast because the Pats don't immediately spend all their budget by 15 minutes into Free Agency.

Many of you are the same ones who demanded the Pats sign Adalius Thomas and then *****ed and moamed about the lack of production from him. I swear, half of you forget how things on this defense interact. The Pats need a DE to solidify the line. Then they need the olbs and ilb to flesh it out.

Getting TBC back into fold helps. Getting Wilfork one will help. Adding another olb would be the next step. Things just don't happen overnight and those of you who think it does are either ignorant or dumb.

LALALA.....LA LA.....

just admit it.....you're a homer.....it is so obvious
