Re: Schefter: Marshall gets 1st rd tender

Revisionist history - all those arrests and off-field incidents were simple misunderstandings from a society prejudiced against thugs. :enranged:

And Rodney King didn't do a damn thing wrong

Million dollar talent and 10 cent head? Yeah, where have we seen this before? Oh yeah, it's TO, before he got old and washed out! No thanks. I'm not taking that kind of risk with a 1st round pick.

i agree. nicely put.

Re: Schefter: Marshall gets 1st rd tender

The number one problem with Brandon is offseason incidents and whether he'll end up suspended again. He's only ever been suspended two games for disciplinary reasons.

But he's not TO. He's not as loud or obnoxious. All he's ever wanted is to be paid.

I think if he gets a contract, he'll just go out and play. He really needs a fresh start.

Re: Schefter: Marshall gets 1st rd tender

I would quite happily spend a first rounder on Marshall. Infact, I wouldn't have a problem sending Moss in the other direction. But hey, how bloody tempting is it to have Moss one side and Marshall the other, then lets see Revis close down one of them.

I totally see Marshall as Moss's aire apparent in New England. I also have confidence in his attitude, and IMO his off season antics are minor problems in the grand scheme of it all.

His nickname entering the NFL was Baby T.O, give me 70% of the production of T.O in his career and I'd be happy.....supper happy for the price of a first.

:rocker:

Brandon Marshall accumulated 101 receptions in 13 games with Kyle Orton.

Just think about that.

It makes my head hurt.

Re: Schefter: Marshall gets 1st rd tender

Marshall was big dog on campus in Denver. After Cutler whined his way out of town, he had only a kid coach to deal with. Yes, McDaniels repeatedly acted like either a kid or a fish out of water in Denver. It was only the 6-0 start that kept the natives at bay.

What in the hell is Marshall going to say when either Brady, Randy, or Bill walks down the hall? When you're not the Alpha male, you don't pee all over the place...unless your A.D. of course.

A 2nd in a heart beat.

:ditto:

Not to mention this whole "he's going to ruin the locker room" thing is so overstated. Are a team full of independently thinking men really going to let one person with a whiny malcontent attitude come in and dictate how they think, feel or perform? Do any of you allow that to happen at your job? I just don't really get the concept, but to be fair, I'll give it some level of credence. Even so, an impact player like this is going to do far more good than harm.

His "bad attitude" (and yes, I did see him punt the ball during pre-season etc.) has netted him 3 consecutive 100+ catch, 1,100+ yard seasons, one of which was with Kyle Orton. Can all of you not in favor of his acquisition honestly say with a straight face that he would not make this team better? The man is a beast, he is 25, he puts up big numbers with qb's that can't hold Brady's jock, imagine what he can do with Tom?

I know I'll be in the vast minority here, but I would give the 1st for him. Yes, I said it! We have 3 2nd rounders in a deep draft, if it came right down to it I'm giving the 1st for him. I'm pretty confident there isn't a player at 22 we could draft that would make our team better than Marshall would. The 1st rounder for him is a little extreme I know but I think the people saying they wouldn't give a 2nd are nuts. Marshall/Moss (albeit older)/Welker (during the portion of the season we'll have him) /Edleman is filthy. 2007 all over again.

His bad attitude (which I also believe to be media-fed) doesn't mean he shuts it down, he still produces great numbers, and with worse people throwing him the ball than TFB. I say we make a play for him. Unless that is you'd prefer to have a Sam Aiken or play-alike instead. Or spend a 2nd rounder on an unproven commodity. Great alternatives.

Re: Schefter: Marshall gets 1st rd tender

I would be willing to take that chance, any player that walks into a locker room with Brady and Moss in it will know his place, he wouldn't be the no.1 and he needs to work hard. I think Marshall would be brilliant here and we have had many players with problems outside the game that suddenly quietened when they became a Patriot.

Re: Schefter: Marshall gets 1st rd tender

He is Randy Moss at age 25. When I was looking at him in the draft there were reg flags regarding his immaturity and attitude from a couple of draft guides.

Maybe, just maybe, if he is with Randy he can learn. I don't know. High risk - high reward with a first rounder. I'm really on the fence with him.

second and a hole Thomas sounds good to me for Marshall, can you imagine Moss and Marshall Welker, Edelman a Healthy Tate, and Best in the backfield, with Brady behind Center? It gives me chills. Watch for the Jets, dolphins, and redskins to make a move for Marshall.

He's one infraction away from taking up to a full season off, and nothing about his recent past suggests that he's been able to mature enough to avoid that sort of trouble.

Watching BSPN and Schefter just came on to share that nugget. Tells me the Bronco's want him signed away, or they would have used the 1st and 3rd. So who make the move for the walking police report?

Marshall is a head case who will cost a ton. He is the exact opposite of what a Patriot should be.

There are better/cheaper options out there. For example I would much prefer the hard nosed Anquan Boldin who can be had for a third round choice than this nut job.

There are no "better" options out there than Marshall. He would look tremendous in a Patriots uniform.

Unfortunately, he's simply too big a risk.

i was saying who as in what team do you think he ends up with. Jets, Chicago are a few that come to mind. Although I'm not sure Chicago dumps their 1st pick on trading for a big money, big problem WR. I think if you are only looking at on the field stuff, he'd be great here. But there is no way Myra gives the go-ahead for that clown. I would also love to see Boldin here. Has that mean streak to go along with Wes. plus, by the time he is missing games due to injury, WW should be back

didn't Chicago already give up thier 1st for Cutler?

So spend 7-9 million on someone thats going to play 7 games

Yet Marshall could be here for 8 years and replace Moss in 2011 or even this off season.
