OK, I'll bite. Why would Belichick not include Spiller and Iupati? And are wejust going to ignore that belichick likes 1st round TE's?

If I were to put on my BB GM hat,I think BB would ask the following about each player:

1.) Spiller - Is he a three down back? In college he ran to the outside a lot. Does he have the courage, wiggle, feet and vision to take it up the middle against NFL defenses play after play,or will he try to bounce everything outside.

2.) Iupati - what about level of competition? He did not look that dominating against Boise State but other than that, who has he played? How much true coaching did he get at Idaho? Is the Idaho coaching staff that much better than a d2 coaching staff? (No disrespect to Idaho intended.)
BB does not usually use first round picks on guys from small schools. I think Fresno State is the smallest but at that time Fresno played a solid out of conference schedule that allowed BB to grade Mankins against quality opponents.

I would never ever doubt BB when it comes to using draft picks on TE? Although a kid coming off a major knee injuring is not an ideal first round candidate.

With all the juniors that are declaring for the draft those 2nd round picks are looking mighty freaking good right now. Excellent crop this year as many predicted.

This is exactly why I think we should trade the vets we want to part with (Adalius) and consider trading down from 22 for extra picks, or perhaps trading a 2011 2nd rounder for a 3rd this year, maybe even our first rounder next year (not the Raiders pick) for an early 2nd.

I'd love to see us come out with say 7 players in the first 3 rounds instead of the 4 we currently have.
