I know you guys hate when people say it, but Brady lost his passion

I think the overall problems with teamates, and the locker room made this season a dreadfull one. Both BB and TB look like they were just happy to be done with it and start again next year.

I think we can easily say the coaching staff lost the team this year...

If he was lacking passion, he would not have worked his butt off to get back after the injury lasy year. He didn't play well today but I don't think it had anything to do with his passion or lack thereof.

It's measured by head banging, dancing and over-the-top celebration after success. That's how you can tell if a guy has passion.

being married to a super model will do that. i mean he's got 3 super bowls, tons of money and a famous wife. why would you care? the richer and more privileged you get, the more you forget about what got you there in the first place.

with that said, i did see brady upset at himself numerous times this year when he made a bad throw. you got to remember he's playing with a bunch of injuries which we don't know the full extent of.

Having a baby and creating a family creates a whole new dynamic for a responsible person. Suddenly, that extra hour of watching film may not be so important. Brady will be fine given a little time to get used to his new situation. Any new dad can relate to the pressures TB must be feeling...right now that new baby and Giselle are first and foremost and football comes 2nd.

This team has more impt. problems to deal with:
lack of passion, poor coaching, lack of personnel, failure to communicate...

I noticed this starting since super bowl 42 which was really bizarre. What about him completely disappearing after his injury in 2008? I said this at the beginning of the season and got blasted for it.

He said in an interview that he disappeared due to the coaching staff asking him to because they thought that he would be a distraction on the sidelines and that the cameras would constantly be panning over to him.

I hate to sound childish, but you guys are so dumb. He certainly does still have his passion. Just because he acts with class and dignity after a loss you think he doesn't care? Just because he dresses in expensive clothes and has a beautiful and famous wife he has lost his love of the game? If he wore flannel, threw a chair, and threw his offensive line under the bus in his postgame press conference would you be happy?

He has always maintained a sense of calm in the biggest/toughest moments, that is what has made him so great. I remember watching the "Patriots All Access" of the Carolina game and he was very vocal in encouraging his teammates throughout the game on the sideline. This is something I saw all season.

I remember in "Moving the Chains", the Brady biography by Charlie Pierce, Charlie Weis remarked on seeing him throw water bottles and scream on the sidelines during the 2005 Indianapolis blowout loss at home, and how that WASN'T the leadership style that Charlie knew. He remarked Brady's greatest strength as a leader has been his ability to rise above his emotions to deliver the best, most focused performance he possibly can. He leads by keeping his cool, trying to be positive, and working harder than anybody else (which he still reportedly does). Should he start bringing a camera to all his workouts to make you guys happy? Should he have BB pick him up at his house everday at 5am to go watch film with news helicopters above, just so a few disappointed nitwits can have his passion reaffirmed?

Remember LateGate? When Brady showed up to work on time just a few short hourts after his son's birth? No, that's not dedication. I guess you guys would just say that's Brady being a bad father.

You can't overcome as much as he has (6th rd pick, physicial defincies, 4th string as a rookie, and now the knee injury), be as good as he has been and still is, and not have a passion for the game.

Funny, I have seen Brady on the sidelines plenty of times this year trying to fire up the troops. Brady is a competitor and has plenty of passion. His passion isn't going to block for him though.

Faulk was yelling at the offense, who knows where brady was at. Just embarrassing, he looked disinterested throughout. Clapped his hands after running out of the tunnel and that was it.

Faulk, a veteran "back-up" and Edelman a rookie "back-up" were the only Pats trying to lit a fire under the teams collective butt. Kind of sad. The rest mailed it in after 10 minutes.

Actually the logic of this board is it's easier to stick your fingers in your ears and hum and just blame Brady for whatever shortcomings because they assume he can take it and he will eventually fix it. Dealing with reality would be tough and require rational analysis and more fixes than they can comprehend easily.

That is a buch of BS. Passion is coming in early to work out, staying late to review film, working hard, being competitive.

By your measure, Chris Canty had a lot of passion because he was so passionate that he wouldn't even wait until the play is over to do his dance. He would celebrate if he made a hit after giving up 30 yards on a passing play. Chris Canty may have been the most passionate Patriots player in history.

Passion is measured how you approach the game, not how you react on the sidelines. Some of the most passionate players in the NFL are not firey guys.

Ok let me see if I have this right,

-Not missing a practice from the start of mini-camp to mid December
-Only finally missing some practices because you are playing with numerious injuries
-Rallying your teammates during several games, including imploring Randy Moss on the sidelines
-Being seen as one of the hardest workers by your teammates, owner, and your coaching staff
-And showing your commitment to your team by making in to work on time during a snowstorm right after your wife gives birth to your new son


...means you have no passion.

I think it's easily evident that Brady isn't the same brady from 03-04. Wether good or bad, he's older, and isn't a kid in wonderland anymore.

He isn't nearly as excited on the sidelines.

I think it's more thna just his passion for the game, I think the locked room is probably a cancerous place... I bet all the talk of sending players home, players being helthy scratches, and all the other locker room drama, plus the failures in Indy and N.O. It all adds up to a overly stressful, drama fille dseason that he nor Belichick cared much for,

When it showed TB and BB on the sidelines talking this year, you could almost read their minds with them thinking... "My god I miss the teams from a few years ago"

The Patriot Way is to not talk, there is so much more we are not hearing, I whole heartily believe the locker rooom, and team aspects simply weren't there. No faith in anyone to do their job = lack of effort on all facets of the game.

BRady isn't god, and he is susceptible to playing poorly based on the emotion of the locker room. He probably doesn't have the leaders, friends, and teammates he once had... and he's drained.

You will never see a Tom Brady of 03-04 again. That team was tight, you could name what felt liek 15 players on that team where you could see themn all hanging out at each others house in the off season. All that's gone, he's stuck with young guys, attitude guys, complainers, and whiners, which is why you see him talking to BB so much rather than his teammates. He feels closer to hsi coach than to many of his teammates.

I fully expect many players to be gone in the off season.

I think part of it's aging. A married 32 year old superstar with a couple of kids isn't going to be quite as fired up as a 24 year old afterthought that still has to prove himself- that's just sort of a fact of life. That Brady is gone, although I'd be careful w/ equating that to losing his passion. He's just more professional and experienced now, and that can be either a good or a bad thing, depending on how he handles it. In some respects, sure, I'd like to see him act a little more like he did back in the SB days, but I know I can't read his mind, and I'm not going to go making any proclamations about whether or not his heart's still in it or anything like that. Let's let him get healthy and see what happens.

Brady won the award when he was still relatively young. He still works harder than most players, but he doesn't need to bulk up like he did when he was 23 and a scrawny kid anymore. He doesn't need to work on improving his mechanics like he did when he was still trying to improve his first few years.

Don't confuse him reaching a different phase of his career with him losing his passion. By most accounts I have heard, Brady is in the weight room by 6 AM almost every day which is earlier than most of the players.

bunch of chicken littles on the board.. Blows his knee out.. Fights back from it and still has a pro bowl year. Maybe if he played iron man football (both offense and defense) he would get more respect. He is the only (THE ONLY) QB to win us a SB Three Times!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
