On NBC's SNF, that is?

I really like them both - probably the best NBC has had over their 4 year run - both are very sharp and provide very indepth analysis of these games and teams.

I just wish Rodney would get more time to talk. Perhaps it's just my perception but Dungy talks more. I like Dungy ... he's informative ... but Rodney has that edge that I like in a commentator.

Rodney's great, Dungy sucks.

Seriously, it's like having to do penance to be allowed to watch Rodney. Holier than thou ghost of Dungee is literally the last person I want to watch on a TV.

I agree. Dungy is weak.

Disagree. Rodney looks very uncomfortable and often Dungy puts out a more coherent analysis.

Rodney gets to the point while Dingy always beats around the bush taking a lot more time to talk. He doesn't provide much entertainment as a commentator, but I like the fact that him and Rodney almost always disagree. Makes for good TV.

And to say they are the best NBC has had isn't saying much. NBC football is my least favorite to watch of all the networks, but I'm forced into it as they are the only one on. They're fairly new so maybe they just need more time.

If Rodney got up and pummeled Olbermann, he would be awesome. But, as of right now, he's just "pretty good".

That's the thing. Dungy seems so much more cerebral up there.

Passing a jib is he?

I hate Dungee. Isn't an agree or disagree thing, really. I'd be uncomfotable talking to Dungee too. Actually i think Rodney's fine.

Actually, there are so many boobs with their little lame jokes, I read about the game and don't watch until it's on. Boomer Esiason I can stand, I have no use for most of them.

Simms is OK as an announcer, but 90% of the announcers don't even know the players, or announce who made the tackles etc.

If you want good commentary, dial in to local radio broadcasters in most cities. Most do their research and they know how to give player credits and down an distance, a totally lost art on TV.

Most of these guys are sensationalist, and make all thes lame inside jokes that aren't funny. they sure as hell won't give you much real information you can't find on messageboards. They're geared towards casual fans who watch the commercials as much as the game.

Eh, I don't think either are great. The worst thing about Dungy though is I've frequently seen him say something in the early broadcast only to completely contradict himself at halftime.

Both of them started horribly, but they've gotten better. Dungy still seems uneasy to me...I'd be ok with more Rodney.

I like the contrast between them. You know, with Rodney being a man and all.

Early in the year, Rodney appeared to be intimidated by Dungy and therefore a little cautious in his choice of words. Lately, Rodney seems more comfortable and speaks with more passion and without hesitation; still, he is way more submissive than the Rodney we know.

Dungy makes some good points, is logical and thinks clearly, but lacks the passion the game demands. And, besides, who can stand looking at him?!
