Here I go again. I'm not a blogger or anything, so I'll just post these thoughts and if you read them, aces.

I feel like we're in Bizzaro world. Brady, Moss and Welker are tearing up the charts with offensive numbers and our defense is allowing relatively low point totals.

And we're 7-5.

Stranger still, Maroney is running hard, scoring TD's in every game and Sam Aiken is making great plays at WR. What?

We'll see a billion threads on how to stop the hemorrhaging, and lot's of valid points, along with some ridiculous stuff. The bottom line is that this team is not bad, but as a unit it is sick and infected and the spread is getting out of control.

What I'm looking at is this: what cures are already in the cupboard?

Are there guys on this team we haven't seen much of that could step up via scheme or promotion?

I suspect AD isn't as done as we think he is, but he's mad and it's not going to get better. Can anyone take his place?

Wright/Green - where did they go? Are they able to fire it back up?

O-Line - We're better with Vollmer in there. Would it be better yet to get LeVoir in at RT for a few games and see if changing book-ends helps?

At this point we're looking for a door to the play-off's, so experimenting is scary, but we're not winning anyway, so why not?

I keep nearly going on a tirade here, so I'll just give you the view from the igloo and sign off.

The Patriots are in trouble, but I think the bleeding can be stopped starting today. Some hard personnel shifts need to happen and some new schemes MUST come into play, even if it's three new things a week. If that means signing pink-slips for one coordinator a week, so be it. I'd rather see them lose the season fighting for greatness than squeak into the playoff's only to be embarrassed with more of the same crap.

There is no more time to be cute or chase stats. Everyone needs to look at film of Welker, Tully, Maroney, Mankins and Aiken. Those guys are the lunch-box guys on this team and that's what it's going to take to win games. It's time for the Pats to stop being the smartest team in the NFL and to start being the best.

I'd rather see all-hussle street FA's playing than lackadaisical superstars at ANY position.

Write this down: Without surgery and visible scarring (meaning a shake-up even we can see) this season is over. Get your blades out Bill and start operating. If we come out looking the same this week as we have lately, we won't even end at 11-5.

Go Pats.

I don't think major sea changes are needed, although they may not hurt. The problem is not that the Pats are getting their butts kicked, it's that they're mostly losing games they could, and probably should, have won.

Better play calling in the second half, in and of itself, would probably have been enough to win that game. Heck, not throwing it to Moss in double coverage would probably have been enough.

I don't disagree, but I think some shuffling, AND some different play-calling would be wise. Whatever we're doing, we're doing it the same, with the same guys every week and we are failing utterly at hiding weakness as we have seen in the past.
