According to the San Diego Union-Tribune, LaDainian Tomlinson is "likely" playing his last season for the Chargers.

Tomlinson can no longer create on his own, lacks burst to the outside, and isn't a passing-game asset. The Chargers almost certainly won't exercise his $2M roster bonus next March, despite his "hero" status in San Diego. They're a good bet to use a first-day pick on a running back in the 2010 NFL Draft.

I won't miss him. He was no Jim Brown except in his mind.

At least Mr Classy is eligible for the Noble Peace Prize...........Oh..........wait a minute.

Re: Final season for Mr Class himself

I think my everlasting image of him was sitting on the bench with his helmet with visor in the 2007 AFC Championship game...

Mr. Class...LMAO I knew who it was before even opening the thread, and it's the 1st I heard of this......

He's pretty useless these days it seems, I was foolish enough to think he'd be at least a decent #2 RB on one of my FF teams....this week he is bench fodder and Maroney is in the lineup!!

Cya later Mr Class......I wish you retired LAST year!!

Probably the single most annoying sports figure from the NFL (edging out Lord Favre) in my lifetime.

A perfect example of a selfish player who was portrayed by the media as a winner and a good, classy teammate. I am glad he will retire and I will not miss his ridiculous vanity and overboard self-evaluation.

"Maybe it comes from their coach" - what LT ? Winning ? Success ? Pride ?

I put him well behind the leaders of Russia & Germany from the 40s... but slightly ahead of Saddam and Ayatollah Khomeini as the most infamous leaders of the post 1900 era.

...I didn't go far enough.

I'd rather open mouth kiss Mangini and all the "analysts" from ESPN than listen to LT.

I just threw up a lil :cry2:

The dude always was a class act. Just ask him.

Eh, like him or not he'll most likely be a first ballot Hall of Famer. He did do this just a year too late, though.

Being a HoFer doesn't mean you aren't a douche though... I think both OJ and Ty Cobb are the examples I'd bring up to support my claim.

I'd vote for him to be in the HoF. But I'd still rather make out with legendary ESPN reporter Clayton than listen to a Mr. Perfect soundbite.

Really? Wow.... I can't stand Lady-ian T., but ummmm... yeah. Nevermind.

BTW, there was and will always be ONE LT, and Lady bird ain't him.

I read nothing there that says it is his last season. That says SD is done with him, not that he is done. The Chargers really wanted to dump him last year but didn't have the guts to make the hard call with a popular player.

He just wants a Favresque swan song where every stadium can cheer for him before he "has a change of heart." He's not getting the feminine attention he craves, as was already evidenced by his Adrian Peterson envy and his little sideline hissy fit this season. Gottaa love LaClassian Classinson.

the few games I have seen this season when LT played, just flat out brutal in the blocking game, he got steam rolled by opposing defenders

I've disliked the guy ever since the 'classy' speech, but it's still sad to see his career shortened. I'd imagine with his #'s before the injuries started he was on pace to break Emmitt's record

I hate LT and find it very enjoyable watching him suffer and suck on Sunday's. I remember in the summer he proclaimed he felt it was disrespectful that everyone was saying AP was the best RB in the game. He said there is no doubt in his mind that he is still the best in the league. Way to be modest there buddy. He's a baby and a *****. I loved when Deion called him out telling him to man up and play because you may never get back to the AFC Championship again. Rivers played on a torn ACL. I hope he retires after this season so I don't have to hear him cry about how him and his team are so disrespected and other teams show no class. Shut up and play ball.

Farn coming out of the closet??

I liked him early in his career, he was a great talent and a lot of fun to watch. but later in his career he turned into a guy i didnt care for. the chargers should have kept michael turner and dumped LT. Turner is clearly the better QB for now and the future. I thought those shots he took at the pats were lame. not only the comment after the playoff game but the one about how the feels the pats were cheaters because that is just how they do things.

You should compile these scenarios in a diet book - really, I'd have no desire to eat after a page or two
