Bring On Indy

Are they still piping in crowd noise too?

And will probably tamper with the Coach-QB helmet communications like last year.

Wayne threw a pass to Garcon, which was picked. Regarding penalties, would you prefer refs not call off-sides & false starts? Sounds like you guys are preparing your excuses for next week.

I hate to agree, but I do. The year we went 16-0 everyone was whining about the refs, etc.. Good teams win despite bad officiating, they don't win because of it. Loser whiners talk about the refs after the game.

It will be a great game, I hope. The Colts are always tough, and I can't pretend to be confident. Our Defense will likely 'bend but don't break' all the way back to the endzone. Manning is great at taking advantage of our porous style that Pees insists on (though to his credit, the past couple of games he has realized there is such a thing as a blitz and used it once or twice).

We might win despite Pees, and it will be because of our offense.

Nice to see a Pats fan show a little objectivity about the Colts.

The Colts are winning. They're winning big, they're winning ugly, they're winning with injuries. We've done the same thing in the past, and crowed about our ability to overcome injuries, win when not at our best, etc. We shouldn't demean the Colts for doing the same thing. Until someone beats them, they and NO deserve top billing. They're more consistent than we are right now.

They're 8-0 right now and we're 6-2. We blew at least one game we had put away. They haven't blown any yet. Now we go to Indy on the road, and we had better be better than we were this week if we want to get out with a "W".

I think we're a more complete team and that Indy is vulnerable. But they were vulnerable to Houston too, and Houston couldn't execute. We didn't execute particularly well today.

Bring our A game (or very close to it) and I think the Pats win 24-14, or something like that. Bring anything less and I think we lose. And we'd better find a way to pressure Manning and beat him up the way we used to, and not play "BBDB".

JMHO, as a 40 year Pats fan.

Totally agree. The Colt's ever since week 8 last year have actually reminded me of the '03 Pats (except for playoff performance of course ). They know how to win plain and simple. In '03 we struggled to beat some bad teams too. But a win is a win.

Heading down this route as a patriots fan is just opening up an obvious can of worms. Im not even going to go there. Im sure an indy fan will.

It's really frustrating watching Colts games, how in the hell can they get away with so many penalties? Why wasn't there a roughing the passer penalty called when Session, I believe, picked off Schaub? You can clearly see Schaub getting whacked in the head by a Colts player as he tried to get rid of the ball. And where was the flag for the Colts player as he held the player on the ground, slapping at the ball after the whistle, while the Texans were trying to get to the line? WTF is wrong with these damned refs in that god aweful sh!t hole of a stadium? The only ref crew that wasn't afraid to call penalties against them was Hochuli's crew. Maybe they were fined after the game and a memo was issued to all other crews.

ummm because Bill Polian gets special treatment.....that's why

A couple of things.

- Houston have been a Jeckyl and Hyde team this year.
- Even with the Texans lacking execution, they were a missed 42 yard field goal from bringing the Colts to overtime after outplaying the Colts in the second half.

Of course they were. So what? Close doesn't count. We were a missed Ghost 40 yard FG from putting Denver away, but didn't execute.

We've won close ones (Buffalo) and blown close ones. Indy hasn't blown any yet.

Give them credit. Then, when we hopefully beat them next week, it will be all the more satisfying. If we don't win, we have nothing to complain about regarding their schedule, near escapes, or anything else. And if we beat them, all that other stuff won't matter.

Either way, it's us vs. Indy for AFC bragging rights. Feels about right to me.

I've already commented enough on the Colts schedule, what if's, etc. I don't want to talk about that anymore. Injured secondary or not, the Colts still have Freeney and Mathis and we're still going to have to worry about blocking them. The Patriots still have Brandon Meriweather and Jerod Mayo and the Colts are still going to have to worry about Meriweather patrolling the defensive backfield and having to block Mayo and the rest of the Pats' DL. Each side has weapons.

I just hope that all of the Colts fans that have been showing up here for the past couple of weeks and making it seem like the Pats shouldn't even bother showing up are going to be willing to come back here and congratulate the Pats should they lose.

they have guys that are out like sanders, hagler and vinitieri. we have guys out too like taylor, morris and light. so colts fans and pats fans can't make any injury excuses.

I would like to watch a Colts/Pats game that doesn't have controversial officiating in the 4th quarter though.

What's with all this "almost" stuff? Last time I checked, 8-0 is 8-0. Means nothing in the grand scheme of things but the Colts haven't LOST. No almosts in that.

New England lost to Denver and the Jets. Indianapolis has won all of its games. Its clear who has been the better team so far.

That being said... with half the secondary on crutches I dont anticipate a Colts win next week.
Excuses started already? Even the most stupid of people realizes 8-0 is better than 6-2 and despite a soft schedule, all the Colts can do is win their games.

I always look forward to the Colts game and I anticipate this one being no different to the battles of the past decade.

Neither the Patriots nor the Colts have beaten a quality, physical team yet. The Colts have beaten everyone they've faced, however, which is all you can ask of them. I'd expect them to be favored at home, and the Patriots had better play a damn sight better than they did today if they want to win that game.

we did play the Jets, Ravens and Broncos (with the middle team handing the last team's only loss)

I'm new here. Looking forward to troll around this week =D

It will be an awesome game. I guess the team that lets the other QB feel more comfortable will loose the game.

As for now I see Freeney and Mathis a little ahead.

Mcgowan needs to have a big game next week forus to have achance covering clark like rodney did in the 2007 game.

You guys want to play the woulda, coulda, shoulda game? If you want to include the 4-4 Ravens, can I include the 4-4 Jets & 4-4 Jaguars?

PS: Cards were 1-1 at the time. And before you go there, you're not allowed to talk up the Ravens for beating the Chiefs & Browns.

just a point of reference, its not who you play, its when you play them . . .

the pats first five opponents were undefeated when they played them, that is only the second time since the merger that a team had 5 undefeated opponents to start the season . . .

with how NO is playing we may face seven undefeated opponents this season . . .

I think Clark will pull bracket coverage a.k.a. Gonzalez. I think we will play in the 33 defense, and lots of dime.

Pats still cheating???

Every team is guilty of something I'm sure.

Yes the colts have had a weaker schedule so far...but a schedule is only weak when you have a good team. And to those saying we "Almost lost" the last few games, that doesn't matter. what category does a game that is "almost lost" go into on the standings? Is it like a Tie? Perhaps we should as mcnabb. Or maybe the buffalo bills from week 1 this year? a win is a win is a win is a win at the end of the day.

Also the pats have played winless titans and bucs team along with a weaker dolpins team the past 3 weeks..so....if we really want to talk about "weak schedules" lets talk.

The game will be good. With all respect I hate the patriots. Not because I am a colts fan but for the same reason I hate the Yankees, just because I do.
However, I tip my cap to the organization. As we saw last year its not tom brady, the organization breeds winning and for that I respect the organization while hating the team at the same time

Trying to score tickets to next sunday nights game...hopefully some i'll get some insider help.

GO COLTS

there will be no excuses

The Falcons and Michael Turner's 720 yds. and 10 TDs say hello.

For an objective assessment of schedule strength, the computer rankings of Jeff Sagarin have the Colts playing a #30 schedule, Pats #16, going into today:

USATODAY.com

By his "pure points" ranking, which he calls the best single PREDICTOR of future games, the Patriots would be a 3-point favorite on a neutral field, so the game in Indy is likely a "pick-em" by the computer analysis.

I give them credit for the win, but let's not act like the Texans were blown away. The Texans outplayed the Colts in the second half of the game and lost the game in the last second because they couldn't make a near chipshot at the very end of the game in a nearly completely enclosed stadium. If they did, we could very well be talking about how the Colts didn't execute.

When the Pats win a game like that, I many times talk how the Pats are lucky to get out of there with a win. Like the Pats beat Baltimore this season. People weren't talking about how the Ravens didn't execute. They might have been talking about how Michael Clayton didn't execute on that last play. Many in the media talked about how the Ravens played the Pats tough and should have won the game.

Let's not hold the Colts to a different standard. The Texans out executed the Colts in the second half and just didn't have enough to pull out the win, but one play may have been the difference in a win or a loss.
