ESPN Rumors - Pats could trade Galloway to the Ravens

Evidently Michael Lombardi is now reporting this as a real possibility now, too.
If so, we better get something solid for him. We could be arming a playoff opponent down the road with a potentially dangerous #2 receiver.

I think we should keep Galloway as bad as he's been performance wise. I dont want another 99th rounder--how does that help us THIS year? Losing Galloway won't hurt much, but he does give us a bit of a security blanket depth-wise should Welker or Moss get dinged up as we start facing elite teams.

Disagree on all points. Galloway has not really had a shot yet IMO--just 3 games with an out-of-sync Brady barely looking his way. Aiken has been putrid as a WR although he looked ok yesterday.

I agree about Aiken except for you said he played good yesterday. IMO, the titans at a certain point became SO defeated even bums like Aiken were getting open. Just watching him with the ball in his hand, the way he runs the routes, the guy is just not going to an effective NFL WR. It's not going to happen, we really need to try to fix whatever issues Galloway is having. We're not always going to be facing that terrible titans secondary.

The fact that NE just extended Aiken appears to indicate that BB disagrees with your analysis.

That being said, I haven't completely given up on Galloway either.

Something is WRONG with the 3rd WR 'burner' paradigm. Were that viable there's no reason on Earth why Gals couldn't just be sent deep to outrun a CB and force help from a safety thus helping Moss. Don't need to be a playbook genius to go deep. Something truly majorly disfunctional in Galloway's performance or behaviour has to be at issue.

The problem with him isn't just his route running and being in sync with Brady... he also kept dropping passes. Even burning down the sideline will be useless if the opponent doesn't respect it. The QB has to have time to throw the deep pass and the WR must be able to reliably catch the pass. Galloway dropped to many passes and so far this season, many teams have been putting pressure on Brady to take away the deep ball.

Throwing him in there and having him burn down the sideline to draw the safety will only work if he can reliably catch the ball.

Bill has given up, though...
