Good Grief, this is so STUPID! Both guys were just trying to make a play. The penalty was punishment enough. This is starting to border on idiocy, which of course is no surprise, given who is running the show in NFL HQ.

I agree. However, given that Wright's and Ngata's hits were almost identical, it's even more stupid to fine one and not the other. So I interpret the Ngata fine as the NFL decided to fine both blows to the head (even though they were pretty incidental and not intentional).

Not fining Suggs is a direct result of all the whining by the Ravens. It sends a very bad message. The league should have made it clear that any attempt to go after a QBs knees won't be tolerated. Period.

I agree that Suggs should have gotten a larger fine as he dove at the QB's knees. I doubt the fines were affected by the cawing of the Ravennes.

The League has the benefit of coach's tape video when determining what happened on a play, not the garbage angles we get from broadcast video. The blows to the head drawing the same fine are at least an attempt to correct their error (presumed) in not sending Ngata a fine notice at the same time they sent Wright his. Suggs' play looks at least questionable on TV, but it's apparently not as violent on the video the NFL is using - too bad they can't show those angles to us.
