I think the team needs to look late in the draft for a punter to give Hanson some serious competition.

While Hanson has been decent at times he has been bad in others.

Would you want Morstead,Huber,Gano or another Punter drafted or are you satisfied with Chris and see no reason to use a pick to take one this year?

BB has said that the reduction in TC rosters from 83 to 80 has meant he can't bring as many STers as he'd like into camp.

If he's satisfied with Hanson's performance, he's not going to spend a draft pick on a rookie.

BB may or may not draft a punter but I am 100% positive there will be either a rookie Punter,Fullback or Tight End on this roster by sunday evening - One of those positions that most think all 3 will go undrafted WILL be chosen somewhere, probably in rd 6 or 7

The Pats have 5 TEs on the roster currently and 2 punters.. The only "fullback" they have is Hochstein.

If we have addressed our other needs - and we have many - then I wouldn't mind at all if Bill uses a 6th-round comp on one of the Punters. At the very least, he should be aggressive in attempting to replace the very inadequate Predator via UDFA.

A draft pick? THeres absolutely no difference between drafted punters, and guys off the street. Theres no reason to waste a pick.

Except that you don't have to worry about other teams trying to sign the guy you drafted..

Precisely.
That's what the 7th round is for. Locking up any potential UDFAs that you specificly want, q.v. Matt Cassel.

If I had to choose one it would be Gano. He is a beast of a punter/Kicker.

Or locking up that TE you're afraid some other team might grab, such as Andy Stokes. :bricks:

At least the Pats still got Ventrone (the other guy they were considering at #256). . . .
