Jets owner wants change of time for September Jewish Holiday games

Well, according to this the Jets may have assumed and not actually requested (and we know what happens then):

"The Giants requested to be on the road for those two weeks. The Jets never put in a formal request but believed there was a longtime understanding with the league that neither New York team should play at home on both holidays."

You know what they say about assuming........The Giants acted and the Jets assumed which is why the Jets haven't been in the Super Bowl since LBJ was president..........they have been assuming their way to mediocrity...

Titans game got moved to 1 pm. A very resonable way to fix the problem.

Perhaps this is a downside of the NFL attempting to make the release of the NFL schedule a huge media and fan event, on par with the NFL draft? I'm guessing that if this happened in years past the Jets would have complained and the schedule would have been re-worked before being made public.

As big of a deal as they make about the release of the schedule these days, I find it hard to believe the teams don't have the chance to review it before it's made public. If the Jets were so concerned about this, why didn't they say something about it before the release?!

Unless they did and the NFL blew them off, so they brought it up again to pressure the league into changing it.

This discussion would be more apt and a better feel to it if we had some strict Orthodox Jews in this forum who are NFL fans and expressed thier views on this since none of us here at this time can personally put ourselves in this situation to say what is right and what is wrong except for your own personal opinion whixch is outside looking in of this religion.

I grew up amongst the orthodox. Basically they would not let anything interfere with their observance of these holidays, nor shabbat or any other holiday. Frankly I can't imagine a guy that looks like my avatar even going to an NFL game for a variety of reasons. Now if we're talking about modern orthodox or simply practicing conservatives, they would skip these games to oserve the holidays, watch them on tivo, and ***** about it to anyone would would listen - just like the rest of us who were occupied during a game we'd normally attend, I guess.

That's not a picture of you?? :wha: I figured it was just a picture your wife took while you were out in China one day.
