New 2009 NFL Mock Draft Game Discussion Thread

If the Pats landed Larry English and Ziggy Hood with their first two picks... I wouldn’t be disappointed.

My preference would be Barwin+Gilbert but I could live with that scenario.

In a draft supposedly deep in OLB, the Pats stand a real chance of coming away with no OLB prospects. How does that happen? Hmmm. Still think Barwin would have been a reach at 23?

It happened because someone else reached for Barwin. Matthews went higher than expected also. I'd be curious to hear who Mogamedogz would've taken had English been the Pat's pick at #23?

I would have taken Peria Jerry.

wrong answer! LOL you were supposed to say Darius Butler! Seriously though how does Jerry fit the Phins system?

I say we give it another 2 hours

Thanks for all your help Bakes and I agree. Whiza has not been online since the 14th. Not sure if he's out of town or what but lets go with it in a couple of hours.

I would like the GM's on line to discuss their thoughts on the pick with Bakes by PM and let him post the selection. Sorry Irish I think you should stay out of that discussion. It's ok to discuss the Texans needs on here just don't mention names here.

I agree whole heartedly. I will chill and cool me jets. Might actually work, then I will check back later. I have to type this test they take it next period lol, so noon for you guys is 10 mountain time right? I am two hours behind eastern time.

It's 11:13am right now

what stinks is the Texans have similar needs to the Pats, so we're likely gonna take away one of those options at #47.
They have Brian Cushing from the 1st round.

So far the votes are all for Safety, so it comes down to which one since they could use FS and SS.

Yup, Texans likely take the best safety available here.

Bakes just doing some investigating and I will PM you soon with some picks for WiZa.

Looking at the Texans roster I think they go Strong Safety because Eugene Wilson is already a starter at FS for them. Tough choice here, a lot of good safeties available.

I think RG is a possibility as the often penalized Mike Brisiel needs to be upgraded aswell as a power running game to compliment Slaton would be what I would look at on the Offensive side of the ball. I would then go with the best possible safety after that.

I'm gonna go ahead and make the pick now.

Good pick with Dalmus, New England Patriots(Irish Hooligan) he was so close to droping to #47 but I am sure you will have someone that will make everyone happy

I am sure everyone knows that I was praying Delmas would fall and he almost did. I am uber nervous the guy I "need" to be there at 58 won't be, and that isn't good but I have to hope. The not trading has killed me the way this thing has shaken out because I do believe our #1 need was OLB. Well it still is OLB because I have not taken one. Delmas would have made things so perfect for me....that being said. Very happy with Chung @ 47. Awesome value in my view.

William Beatty
Darius Butler
Patrick Chung
#58

TE FOR THE BILLS? I TOLD YOU EXPLICITLY NOT TO PICK A TE!!! YOU'RE BANNED! :banned:

Just joking. Thanks for making the pick, Broadway. To say that the Bills needed a TE is an understatement. Cook isn't the best blocker in the world, but they really, really need someone with good hands.

All good picks since then, btw. I like Delmas as the next Rodney for the Pats.

Gomezcat the board has you picking for the Eagles but I had the eagles and hope it is just an mistake. If not I guess I have been :banned:

I sent a PM to Seneschal2

Well I hope you think as highly of Chung cuz that's who they got! I don't think Delmas realistically falls to 47 and Chung would be unlikely as well.
