2009 NFL Mock Draft Game: Discussion/Vote Thread

The dunce Vinnie Cerrato would love to trade #13 for a first and second in order to recoup the 2nd traded away for Jason Taylor (1 year for a player in a mediocre team--ouch!)--anybody interested?

Since we're waiting for our Bronco GM at #12, my suggestion would be Maualuga.

I vote for Maualuga also just in case the Broncos GM does not make the deadline. Looks like his time is running out soon.

Vote: Moreno to Broncos

I'm done for the day so let's hope things run smoothly from here on out.
bakes781 is done for the day so I guess we'll have to wait till tomorrow am.

Michael Oher probably would have been the safe pick for the Redskins, but I thought Peria Jerry was the best player available and that he could really have an impact on that team. The Redskins need for an OT is overblown, Chris Samuels is only 31 and I think they have something in Stephon Heyer. I didn't like any of the LBs available either at this pick. With Jerry and Haynesworth, they'd have the best interior pass rush in the league--they could win games with it. For a team without a pass rush for ages, this is very appealing. Cornelius Griffin would be better as a rotational player (and an excellent one). Jerry and Haynesworth would constantly be in the backfield--it would help the run defense as well.

TRADE

The New Orleans Saints have worked out a St. Patrick's day deal with another great Irishmen Clonamery (New York Giants).

New Orleans Saints trade #14 overall to the New York Giants for picks 29 and 45. (#14 = 1100) (29 (640) and 45 (450) = 1090).

The NY Giants are now on the clock until 2pm.

Interesting that the 2 trade ups have both been for WR. I like that the pace has picked up a bit.

I'd like to trade Arizona's first and another pick for an early 2nd rounder and another 2nd.

So, basically i'm asking for 2 2nds. If a high 2nd, then a 3rd would be nice as well.

To clarify, either NE's 2 highest 2nds or a team with a highish 2nd (picks 35 -42) as well as their 3rd for my 1st and 3rd/4th depending on the chart.

I am also willing to trade up however.

In case people aren't familiar with the value chart here it is: NFL Trade Value Chart - Huddlegeeks Fantasy Football

I would argue with a few of the point values. For example at #4(1800) I think the math would justify changing that value to 1900, but overall I think it's an important tool to set the standard to go by so as not to get ripped off in a deal. And again we're only allowing trades that involve this year's picks.

so basically you want somebody to give you 2 2nd round picks between 35 and 42, and you are willing to give up #31. thats a bit of a reach dont ya think

I said "and another pick"

Depending on the Value chart, it could be my 2nd rounder or it could be a 3rd and a jumble of lower picks.

I like the idea of 6 picks per day for the second round as it does speed up in the real NFL draft.

I should also mention since neither VJCPatriot nor Richter have been active on this thread recently and both missed their deadlines the Packers and 49ers are now available to anyone who's not already participating.

I go to the store and come back to find the two players I were hoping to slide to #29 were just picked:banned:

God you gotta love the draft

Bakes one question, The trade offers have to be sent via pm or this thread?

Obviously from my quick reply I was jumping at the chance to take Laurinaitis. I think the combination of Julian Peterson, James Laurinaits and Ernie Sims at LB can be the start of something great. There's a couple of OTs that I have rated higher, but obviously having taken Jason Smith #1 overall that wasn't an option here. As I mentioned on the other thread, Ziggy Hood was likely plan B.

If you want to openly discuss trade offers here that's fine. There needs to be confirmation from both sides on here once an agreement in detail has been reached. I'm not going to be approving/rejecting trades unless completely one-sided or don't follow the one simple guidline of exchanging only 2009 draft picks.
