I'm doing a mock draft on another site and I am up. Lots of big names still available, and no one seems to want to trade up, just down. I think Carolina did want to move up in exchange for Peppers, but they wanted No. 23 and No. 34, and I told him no thanks. Quick poll, who would you take? I'm leaning toward Maybin or Matthews.

1 Detroit- Aaron Curry LB Wake Forest
2 St. Louis- Jason Smith OT Baylor
3 Kansas City- Eugene Monroe OT Virginia
4 Seattle- Matthew Stafford QB Georgia
5 Cleveland - Michael Crabtree WR Texas Tech
6 Cincinnati- BJ Raji DT BC
7 Baltimore (from Oakland) - Brian Orakpo OLB Texas
8 Denver (from Jacksonville)- Mark Sanchez QB USC
9 Green Bay - Everette Brown - DE/OLB FSU
10 San Francisco - Michael Oher OT Mississippi
11 Buffalo - Brian Cushing OLB USC
12 Philadelphia (from Denver thru Oakland & Baltimore)- Malcolm Jenkins CB/FS Ohio State
13 Washington- Andre Smith OL Alabama
14 New Orleans- Vontae Davis CB Illinois
15 Houston- James Laurintis MLB OSU
16 San Diego- Chris "Beanie" Wells RB OSU
17 New York Jets- Jeremy Maclin WR Missouri
18 Chicago- Darius Heyward-Bey WR Maryland
19 St. Louis (from Tampa Bay) - Rey Maualuga MLB USC
20 Detroit (from Dallas)- Josh Freeman - QB - Kansas state
21 Oakland (from Philadelphia)- Peria Jerry DT Ole Miss
22 Jacksonville (from Minnesota thru Denver) - Percy Harvin WR Florida
23 New England -

Thanks!

I'd try to trade down, but forced to pick, I'd take Beatty.

I would have to agree with dryheat44 on this one.

Maybe take a chance on Tyson Jackson, DE, LSU, he seems to be the name that has slipped that would fill a need if Wright does not resign.

tyson jackson lsu

Ooh. I missed Jackson. That would also be a very good pick.

So no interest in either Maybin or Matthews?

Don't listen to the others. Take Clay Matthews and be the genius of the draft. :rocker:

Do it before Box comes on and tells you to take Barwin.

Just how I see these two in a quick look.

Maybin - was my first binky but he looked so slow and stiff at the combine (maybe bulked up to quick). He is very young 20 y/o with alot of potential.

Mathews - Kinda in the same boat as a guy who did not get alot of playing time at USC but has a load of potential.

I see Philadelphia moved up to 12 to take Malcolm Jenkins. What did they give up?

The ideal move would be to trade down to #29 with the Giants, swapping #58 and 44. There are already 4 WRs off the board (Crabtree, Maclin, Heyward-Bey and Harvin). The Giants really need a big WR to replace what they lost with Plaxico last year, and Hakeem Nicks is ideal. Baltimore, Indy and possibly Miami would consider him, so moving up to 23 makes sense for them.

Ideally, at 29 we could still get William Beatty (who I would take at #23 otherwise). Barwin, Delmas and Ayers get serious consideration, but there are other options at their positions and I hope to get them with 34, 44 and 47.

I knew this was comming.

If you have to stick, take Jackson.

This was the whole deal.

Oakland Trades pick #12, #40 and #88
TO
Philidelphia for picks #21, #28, #53 and OT Winston Justice

If we hadn't taken two CBs recently, the pick would have probably taken Alphonso Smith. I really want to choose Delmas both here and in the real draft. I want to wait, but I wonder if he'll be there at 34.

I'm going with your guy, Matthews. I like Tyson Jackson, great size and stuff, but I heard that his motor is off and on. At least with Matthews, I know he will never quit.

I do like Matthews, but I can't pull the trigger at #23 on a 240-lb. OLB who never dominated at the college level.

Jackson vs. Beatty vs. Barwin would be my tough decision. High-class problem, that.

(On Jackson's "motor": isn't that the standard rap on almost every DE prospect, Seymour & Warren included?)

OK, OK, Jackson it is. I am easily influenced.

I think I may still be able to grab Delmas or another safety and an OLB possibly some of the second rounders.

I'm not a huge Jackson fan (which is why trading down would be a good move), but he is a legit 3-4 DE and not a DT conversion project. As a commodity, I think that makes him more valuable. With Seymour possibly on the way out, that is a nice commodity to have.

You will be able to grab a 3-4 rush OLB in the 2nd round. Should be a number of safety options as well (and don't fall asleep on Sean Smith). While it may not feel like a great pick, it is probably the best one for the situation.

Please I hope not. I don't want Jackson in the 1st at all. I'd much rather have Jarron Gilbert if we pick a DE (but not in the 1st round).

Who did you pick? Drumroll please.....
