Somehow, you completely ignore the Miami experiment.
It's less likely for Det. to turn things around that fast, but not impossible by any means.
Yes, but it’s a very different situation, no matter how “similar” Miami-2007 and Detroit-2008 were:
1) Miami just one game in 2007, but they were competitive in many of their defeats; Detroit was undoubtedly the worst team ever.
2) Miami got Bill Parcells; Detroit has Matt Millen’s heirs.
3) They actually were just on rebuilding mode until they became incredibly lucky and got Chad Pennington after Brett Favre’s soap opera... and Pennington turned to be exactly the kind of QB they need.
I don’t discard a Detroit’s “turnaround” to five or six wins, but what Miami did last year was unique in NFL’s history.
