"I know the show must go on and hopefully Matt Cassel is ready to step in. From a team standpoint, we are ready to embrace him and let him lead us."

In retrospect, what do you think about this quote?

Honestly? I think that it was a great sign of leadership. I just wish he'd shown it more on the field earlier on.

On a related note--was it just my imagination, or did they make a concerted effort to actually have Cassel leading the team onto the field each week?

Same thing I thought back then. Randy had some reservations about what Matt could do, but wasn't going to call the season over just yet. Just not real optimistic about it.
