Favorite Brad Seely moment was in Super Bowl 36 when Patriots got called for a penalty in the final moments and Fox had the camera on Seely as he shouts "What the F^&% was THAT?????"

Is he really that good a coach? Special teams always seems so up and down to me.

I've wondered the same thing for several years. It seems as if the Pats excel in some parts of STs, but don't do so well in others, and which is which varies from year to year.

u serious? who next, the LB coach? dang these ppl

(not taht our ST has been ohh so impressive this year)

You stole my thunder my friend. Why don't these teams go raid the Colts coaching staff. Aren't they out of the playoffs? Jeez they will probably try to take our PR guy next.

Why does anyone question whether this guy is good.

Look at some of the key special teams areas. Kicker, punter, and Long snapper.

Paxton deserves some credit but coaching does too. IMO we have the best long snapper in the game.

We were able to replace the best kicker in histroy and Seely deserves some credit for that. Also he deserves some credit for the fact that Vinateri hit all those kicks.

We have always goten the punting game done with so so punters and his coaching the Patriot way to punt has to do with that.

Hobbs is one of the best kick returners in the game thus the unit is one of the best in the game and he deserves credit for that too.

The Patriots consistantly have good STs this guy is a good coach. I hope he stays. Can't see why he would leave unless he gets more responsibilities in SEA maybe assistant head coach or something.

nope, it would be a latteral movement, hence he would be ST coach there as well

I think that Seely is a very good coach. One thing to remember is that the Patriots have moved away from playing their starters on special teams to try and limit the potential for injury. For instance, when Woods became the starting OLB, they pulled him off special teams. Mike Wright was pulled off special teams when he was staring in place of Ty Warren.

Now, when that happens, the Patriots have to put new bodies onto the special teams unit. Guys who haven't necessarily gotten a lot of reps there. So, they aren't as fully aware of their roles as they should be. This hurts the special teams units.

Basically, an injury to the starter is hurting the Pats in other ways as well. And we say a lot of that this year.

Yeah, what he said...

I have to think that superior ST coaching is one of the reasons Kelley Washington was able to make a successful transition to special teams.

Seeley is a very good coach, and very loyal to the Pats do not see him moving on..

I'm not a huge admirer of the Patriots' special teams -- particularly kick coverage and punting -- but I could be wrong.

What I'd like to know, following up DaBruinz' point, is: do other clubs devote as many spaces as the Patriots to special-teams-only players (Izzo, Alexander, Slater, Aiken, Washington, etc.)?

i doubt the pats will allow this unless seely really wants to. belichick has always said that they will allow their coaches to seek oppurtunities that the patriots can not match, seems as though the patriots could match whatever the seahawks can offer. Unless of course seely has seattle ties or something.

Other than Seely and Scar, are there any coaches left over from the Grier/Carroll years?

That alone is probably a good indicator of Seely as a coach.

Why would so many other teams want coaching and front office personnel from the most evil, cheating team in the league?

This has its silver lining though. As more Pat's coaches become the desireable NFL commodity since their exposure to the "Patriot's Way" and BB is obviously highly prized, what do you think other coaches we may want to have see? They see opportunity to improve their marketability far more by going to the Patriots rather than to another, more pedestrian NFL Team.

The Pats probably get the pick of the litter for replacements.

Should read Bob Kravitz' column in the Indy Star after their latest playoff loss. He pretty well covers why nobody is interested in the Colts staff in a round about way.

Nutshell version: Because they can't get it done consistently in the post season.

OK dude. If you insist...

Brad Seely has been here from the start of the BB&SP time????
