Have you actually been paying attention to the real world, Mr. sauce, or do you spend all your time on Madden?

Do you remember one of the reasons suggested for cutting John Lynch? Because his salary would be guaranteed if he were on the Week 1 roster.

The only way the Pats aren't on the hook for his entire hit is if he had a contract that specifically allowed them to pay less of his salary if he ended up on IR.

Moreover, there is absolutely nothing that can be done, essentially ever, about cap hits related to signing bonuses.

What difference would it make anyways? Do you think there are a bunch of Ed Reeds sitting out the season just waiting for a team to open up some room? Who are all these superstars out there available we need room to spend on?

There is no one out there right now who we can't afford if we wanted to. Cap room doesn't really help just for the sake of having it. That is silly fan talk. Anyone out there is out there mainly for non-salary reasons, with the possible exception of Ty Law. Who we could afford if we wanted to, he's just out of his mind.

And Brady will be back by mini-camp next year.

Im surprised that 'gick' is asking this question. Afterall, on Madden, the cap hit counts. It doesnt just go away when you throw somone on I.R.

I would think the almighty 'gick, champion of all things Madden' would've known this.

NO. They don't get Brady's cap hit back. The only thing they will get next season is any of the LTBE bonuses that were counting against the cap this year that Brady clearly won't get.
