I'm a little confused with this Colvin situation. I was under the impression that he had one more (expensive) year left with the Pats.
Yet the Pats cut Colvin.
Now why would they cut him when they could trade him and at least get something for him?
Some of you on here know a lot more about the cap, and franchising, and compensatory picks, than others....... so this is mostly directed towards you.
Why didn't the Pats just trade Colvin for a 4th round pick?
If that won't work, Why not trade him for a 6th instead of just releasing him?
Do they get a compensatory pick for releasing him (or something) that would allow this mess to make sense?
otherwise, i don't why they didn't just trade him and get whatever they could.... a 6th rounder would be better than nothing..
