I know he is not liked here but I noticed he hasn't wrote a piece for the herald for a long time. Has he gone the way of his master wrong way Borges?

Who cares, I hope he gone, then we can all read objective stories.

He is in Milwaukee with the Brewers.

Or in Lambeau field waiting for moss to come back and pretend to moon him.

Not sure...I know he's on the radio...and sometimes he makes sense when he doesn't talk about football...although he has ZERO knowledge about roundball...listened to Ryan have him for lunch. Hmmm come to think of it...it's about the same knowledge of the gridiron.

Focused on his "media career" (FSN and Radio). He's long been on record (even back in his WEEI days) that he felt print media was a dying out to all this new stuff, and that at some point we'll all just use KFFL and so on for that. Given the sad state of the Herald, it's tough to argue with him thinking there was no much future there.

I think he's said that the future is more in broadcasting. The ESPN Radio thing may well be a stepping stone to getting in with the Bristol crowd someday. If not, h'e working the FSN angle too.

I remember from a Scott's Shots I think, that he's agreed to still do the report cards and occasional focus story. But Breer, Thomase and Gurgian are the main Pats cover team now.

Sara is the more credible journalist anyway. And much better looking.

He said a while ago when someone apparently asked if he'd been canned, that he was on a sabatical of sorts but would be writing some for the Herald in season.

His ESPN radio gig has unfortunately become pretty juvenile drivel driven. They spend inordinate amounts of time talking amongst or worse about themselves, I guess 'cause they don't get many callers. He has the occasional decent guest, but his support crew are like 20 year old flash boy radio wannabes. Today he was mostly venting about how gutless the media is for not asking Barry Bonds the tough questions. His co-host, Bob Halloran, kept trying to make the point that asking questions that you know will end an interview doesn't really gain your audience anything. Felger envisions himself as some sort of one man sports fraud busters squad these days. Although he had no trouble with Vick killing dogs as long as they were pit bulls. Kept referring to that as a public service.

One interesting tidbit from today's blather was he did admit that he is something of a persona non grata in Foxboro these days, and guys he used to socialize with now don't even make eye contact with him anymore.... Said that is a price he's willing to pay to be a (self proclaimed) bastion of objectivity  and said those who won't ask the questions these guys don't want to answer are more interested in having relationships with jocks than digging for whatever it is he thinks he digs for.

If he were the least bit athletic I'd question whether or not Felger ever did steroids because his head is actually bigger than Bonds' these days and compared to his early days in the business, his radio persona as it has evolved just screams I'm on freakin' something...or I should be.

molewisrocks- "Although he had no trouble with Vick killing dogs as long as they were pit bulls."

Is that Felger's actual position on the issue? Good god.
