If he wins this game, no one can disclaim that he's not the best ever.
But losing to the same QB twice in the SB? I'm not saying its fair, because I think football is a team game. Brady did NOT lose to Eli in '07, but that's the perception people have about it either way.
Michael Jordan is undoubtedly the greatest of all-time for a reason. He leaves very little, to no doubt left at all. Brady has this chance is what I'm saying.
No one can ever bring up the fact he lost to Eli again, if he beats him.
Do you really think he's worrying about his legacy right now?!?!?Do you guys seriously not think Brady realizes this? He's calling his QB guru? Brady understands this better than any of us.
If Brady loses he might not be knows as the best QB ever, but the New England fan base will always embrace him and he's the best player in team history.
If Eli loses, the NY fanbase will call for his head for 5000th time in his career, deriding him for being inconsistent and forever lamenting the fact he isn't Peyton.
The only difference is, Eli doesn't even realize it yet. When you're on top, everything is good. Wait and see his legacy after this one. People will kick themselves for all of the superlatives they threw at a slightly above average quarterback who has done relatively little with all the talent around him.
True.
Win or lose. Brady stays in the top 10 of QBs. And ahead of Bradshaw.
Brady wins and gets the MVP you can debate Brady vs. Montana. NYG win you can't debate Montana vs. Brady.
Do you really think he's worrying about his legacy right now?!?!?
I'm pretty sure he just wants to win for winning!:rocker:
Of course you can debate Montana vs. Brady even if he doesn't win.
Yes, because losing three of five Super Bowls has tarnished Elway's legacy.
In a ten year career (he missed a year due to injuries or it would be 11 years), Brady has been been to six Championship games and five Super Bowls. He holds multiple records including the season TD record. He has two league MVPs and two Super Bowl MVPs. And he did all this in an era where dynasties are NOT supposed to happen.
Brady is and will forever will be in the discussion for best QB in league history. What happens on the 5th of February will not change that. A win will add far more weight to the argument that he is the best of all time.
Besides, even if he loses this Super Bowl doesn't mean that he won't win one, two, or three more Super Bowls before he retires. If he goes to one more Super Bowl after this year, he will have gone to more Super Bowls than any QB (he is currently tied with Elway for the most at 5).
Brady is facing Giants D, Eli facing Pats D.
Anyone who is trying to diss Brady's legacy with or without a 4th ring dosnt know what they talk about.
Paulie's back and he wants a cracker. Go away, troll.Fair or foul: If Brady loses AGAIN to Eli Manning, he'll forever be mocked, and his legacy will take a huge hit. That's not my own perception. I don't agree with that. But he'll likely never ever be seen as the greatest to ever play, losing TWICE to the same QB in the SB. He just won't. Montana apologist will never let that one go. Brady will still seen as great, but I think we all agree at this point he's in the "ballpark" with Montana.
If he wins this game, I think he'll undoubtedly go down as the greatest ever. He has Montana beat in every way if he wins. More post season wins, more SB appearances, same rings, better numbers, etc...
No one will be able to say Montana is better at least.Tom Brady has a chance to be known as the G.O.A.T in this game. This is his moment. This will tell us how truly great he really is. He's already great, but all-time best great? We're going to see.
This is by far and away the most important game in Brady's career. Nothing he's ever done even comes close to magnifying that. Not the 18-0 season(that was the entire team, not one guy). In fact, I don't think any QB in the history of football has as much pressure as what Brady has for this SB.
This game is all about the Great Tom Brady, and where his legacy will go after this game.
I wish him well. I really do. Good luck.
If you are implying that Brady is going up against a much tougher defense than Eli, you're dead wrong. There is NOTHING that supports the argument that the Giants defense is better than the Pats, either longer term (the entire season) or their recent win streaks. Go find me the stats/reasons why the Giants are better. You can't. Seriously, go try to find something.
Actually i wasnt implying nothing, its a fact that brady will face a giants D, he dosnt play against eli. and vice versa.
You guys forget how much of a Brady hater Paul has been since he arrived here. This game won't make or break Brady's legacy. That legacy has been made. A win will only fortify Brady as the greatest of all time.
