This game will make or break Tom Brady's legacy

Fair or foul: If Brady loses AGAIN to Eli Manning, he'll forever be mocked, and his legacy will take a huge hit. That's not my own perception. I don't agree with that. But he'll likely never ever be seen as the greatest to ever play, losing TWICE to the same QB in the SB. He just won't. Montana apologist will never let that one go. Brady will still seen as great, but I think we all agree at this point he's in the "ballpark" with Montana.

If he wins this game, I think he'll undoubtedly go down as the greatest ever. He has Montana beat in every way if he wins. More post season wins, more SB appearances, same rings, better numbers, etc...

No one will be able to say Montana is better at least.Tom Brady has a chance to be known as the G.O.A.T in this game. This is his moment. This will tell us how truly great he really is. He's already great, but all-time best great? We're going to see.

This is by far and away the most important game in Brady's career. Nothing he's ever done even comes close to magnifying that. Not the 18-0 season(that was the entire team, not one guy). In fact, I don't think any QB in the history of football has as much pressure as what Brady has for this SB.

This game is all about the Great Tom Brady, and where his legacy will go after this game.

This is the big pressure moment he'll ever face. If he loses, he's still great. No one will think differently, but being the best ever is probably tarnished for ever.. The greatest of greats in sports are seen as delivering in these moments.

I feel bad Brady has that kind of pressure, and it is a lot for anyone. But it is what it is. It's the sports world we live in. And if he wants to be seen as the best ever, this is his time to show it.

If Brady loses this game he'll be 66% as mocked as John Elway is for losing 3 SuperBowls. Meaning, he won't be mocked at all.

Even if he loses he'll retire with over 400 TD passes and over 50000 yards, with three SuperBowls (assuming he loses next week and never gets back again). He'll be the first guy to merge ridiculous statistics and multiple SuperBowl victories. Tom Brady's legacy is secured, dude, this thread is pretty ridiculous.

He'll always be seen as one of the best ever. Nothing is going to change that. But right now, he has a chance to be seen as the BEST ever.

If he wins this game, no one can disclaim that he's not the best ever.

But losing to the same QB twice in the SB? I'm not saying its fair, because I think football is a team game. Brady did NOT lose to Eli in '07, but that's the perception people have about it either way.

Michael Jordan is undoubtedly the greatest of all-time for a reason. He leaves very little, to no doubt left at all. Brady has this chance is what I'm saying.

No one can ever bring up the fact he lost to Eli again, if he beats him.

Yes, because losing three of five Super Bowls has tarnished Elway's legacy.

In a ten year career (he missed a year due to injuries or it would be 11 years), Brady has been been to six Championship games and five Super Bowls. He holds multiple records including the season TD record. He has two league MVPs and two Super Bowl MVPs. And he did all this in an era where dynasties are supposed to happen.

Brady is and will forever will be in the discussion for best QB in league history. What happens on the 5th of February will not change that. A win will add far more weight to the argument that he is the best of all time.

Besides, even if he loses this Super Bowl doesn't mean that he won't win one, two, or three more Super Bowls before he retires. If he goes to one more Super Bowl after this year, he will have gone to more Super Bowls than any QB (he is currently tied with Elway for the most at 5).

Disagreed, barring a major injury Brady will get more shots. No guarantees he'll get back to the SB but his chances are good with this team/HC.

I love how I say its perception, and everyone automatically assumes it means how I'll view him. There's no way to literally "prove" any particular player is the best all-time. Of course there are going to always be different opinions for people. There's no "fact" to prove anyone is the greatest of all-time.

The perception of Brady can drastically change from one game.

It's what you do, in your sport, during your era that you're forever remembered for. The perception of the general public is not that Elway is the greatest of all-time.

If you think that, then that's your opinion. But if you put it to a vote, Joe Montana would win hands down.
