This is what I said with regard to his durability issues:
"Mauti has a ton of durability concerns. But I’m going to let my readers in on a little secret; I am NOT a doctor. I am by no means a credible source as to what kind of long term problems his injury issues will have. All I know is that he suffered his third season ending knee injury last week and has missed other games due to head, knee, and shoulder injuries. But I’m not by any means going to question an NFL team’s evaluation of a player’s durability issues. NFL teams for one, have much more detailed descriptions of the injuries, and, two, have team doctors that can analyze an injury’s long term impact. I am not a doctor. I will let his injury issues affect my opinion of him no more or less than other scouts. I’ll just take there word for it. Because who am I to say that I know more?"

Are you ever going to answer my questions about the WRs?
I think when a player is wide open they tend to be more conservative when catching the ball. Do you think Williams' body catches are because he's so open all the time? Do you think he's a first rounder?
.@grantwilliamson Williams kid from Baylor is best WR I've seen all year w/ Marqise Lee a close second. Lee might win but Williams is better
Do you think Hopkins would be a good Patriot? Do you think he would pick up the offense? I wonder because he kind of looks like a overly confident thug.
Wheaton is a good player and currently undervalued. I wonder why he's used in the slot so often. I think I hate his offensive coordinator and quarterback. He's fast, but I don't think he's as fast as some people are saying.
I really like Rogers. Athletically I don't think he's Julio Jones like you once mentioned, but I think he's close. He's probably more like Dez Bryant. I wish I had some games of him so I didn't have to rely on internet videos. They just aren't reliable. You can get 100 times more information by watching entire games.
I'm interested in Patterson. Like I said he's used in a similar to Percy Harvin. He doesn't have the same track record, but could still be a good prospect.
Woods is definitely a good player and a good value. I think he's the most pro ready, but doesn't have the highest ceiling even though he might have the highest floor. Marquis Lee is an elite player and while I think he holds down Woods' numbers a little that's not a knock on Woods.
Put him in your mocks now guys. Zach Boren is going to be a Patriot. Plays for Meyer, captain, fullback, special teams, and now defense. The senior fullback has played linebacker for the last five games and already totaled 41 tackles including 12 in the most recent game vs Wisconsin. Welcome to Foxboro, Zach!
+ Fresno State S Phillip Thomas - Thomas’ production (eight interceptions, three touchdowns, four pass breakups, 10.5 tackles for loss) is outstanding, but his skills match up. He is at his best when covering the back half, either working sideline to sideline to undercut passes or trailing vertical receivers, turning his head and beating the opposition to the catch point. I have heard many NFL Scouts consider him (easily) the best safety prospect since Earl Thomas and Eric Berry.
I thought about saying this when I first heard he was playing defense. He's only a blocking fullback though isn't he? I was watching FSU yesterday. I want Lonnie Pryor for a FB role. Really intelligent blocker but moves like a HB.
Hav'nt watched him but I heard he is a good reciever.
I haven't seen him either, but if he is a good receiver, it must be in theory. His career line is 25 catches for 193 yards for 7.7 avg and 1 TD.

Goddammit Mackenzie, stop hatin on white people
I don't post often, but wanted to let you know I really appreciate everything you have been contributing to this forum.
I'm glad you do
Were you the one who made the comment?Do you really not know why linebackers tackle a rb/wr in the mid-section?
Were you the one who made the comment?
If you were, I'll admit talking about torque was pedantic (ironically, I believe pedantic is a pedantic word, but I can't think of a word other than pedantic). That being said, if you are going to lean in with your head when making a tackle, as opposed to wrapping up, you will not lose balance if you are hit in the belly button.
If you lean in with the head and hit the midsection, you'll need a miracle to bring the guy down. If you wrap up around the midsection, you'll be just fine. But as long as Mauti leans in with his head as he hits the midsection, he won't be successful. You see corners make tackles by diving at a guy and taking out his legs. It's actually pretty effective if you don't have the length and strength to consistently wrap up. But you have to dive at the legs or, if you are in a perfect situation to deliver a hit that could result in a fine, around the shoulders or head.
As you can see in the video below, if you hit a guy in the upper body, he will certainly lose balance and fall backward, usually landing on his back.
Willis McGahee Jacked Up By Ryan Clark (HD) - YouTube
We all know that if you take out a guy's legs and get them off the ground, he will be tackled, and he will land on his stomach. The belly button is a grey area. The player will be pushed back, but the midsection simply has no give to it.
Yeah, it was me. The youtube clip you love is a 15 yard penalty and a fine in today's NFL. I wouldn't really recommend that. Had Clark gotten lower and gone thru his mid-section, it's a legal tackle. But, we like beasts who blow guys up. Thanks for making my point. Illegally in this case.
If you want a youtube of missed tackles, I'll make one for you. Many more tackles are missed because defensive players go too high or too low. Players are taught to go thru the mid-section. Period. It's not a grey area at all. It's the proper technique. If you were to argue that Mauti isn't functionally strong enough to be a lb. I'd buy that. He does have 3 int's, 2 broken up ones and 5 deflected passes. Not sure about your awareness in a zone comments.

I appreciate your contributions as well, Mackenzie:rocker:, so much so that I'm completely willing to overlook your obvious hatred of white football players
Now that I think about it, I wrote negative scouting reports on Mauti, Barkley, Chase Thomas, John Simon, and Joseph Fauria. But I did write a positive scouting report on Zac Dysert. Still, in 5 out of my 6 scouting reports on white guys I have claimed them to be overrated.
