Is Tank still on the roster after being ir'ed last year? If so, maybe he could fill Rodney's shoes as the thumper in the middle.

Does anyone know the nature of his injury? Did he blow out the same knee that was reconstructed before he came here?

I was pretty sure at the time that he was signed to a 2 year deal, and I don't recall him being released.

NFL.com has him listed as a UFA.

This is the one guy I had hoped we would resign above all others even including Rodney.

I agree that he looked very good in camp last year and I'd love to see him with the team. But I wouldn't worry about the Pats signing him. Here's why:

Last year, he signed for the vet min. That's all he could get a year younger and not coming off a knee injury. Having done so well in the Pats system last year, if he comes back at all healthy, his value will have increased for the Pats (now that he knows the system) and decreased for everyone else (now that he's been injured), compared to the same time last year.

So he'll be back with the Pats if he's healthy.

tank has been injured his entire career. Minnesota also thought he had great potential but could never stay healthy. I say we move on...

Tank hasn't been injured his entire career. In fact, he's had 3 seasons where he played every game. And that includes the season before he went to Minnesota. Yes, he had a fluke injury in TC with them where he blew out his ACL. And then the 2nd season with them, he was still rehabbing it.

While it may be time to move on from Tank, lets not make claims that just aren't truthful.

Well my best friend who is a die-hard vikings fan pretty much laughed at me when he found out we had signed williams. He said, great potential, strong hitter and weak in coverage. But most importantly, he'll never stay on the field.

I still had hope but i dunno bruinz, after suffering a season-ending injury right off the bat, I've sorta given up on the tank williams experiment.
