He went 3 for 3 on Field Goals,4 for 4 on PATs,and His kickoffs were great yesterday and helped the coverage team mightily. It was his first playoff test and He passed it with flying colors. We would have KILLED Him if he had failed but He came through "Big Time". We could not have asked for anything more. His 40 yarder was his best kick. Just a very solid day by the rookie.:singing:

I wonder what Vinitieri's stats would have been if he had had to kick off the Normandy beachhead that passed for the Gillette Stadium field for the first 10 weeks of the season, instead of the cushy artificial surface inside the RCA Dome?

Gosto is fine. I have total confidence in him.

Just the same, I'd assume that Bill Belichick wishes he never let Robbie Gould out of town.

Kind of sticks in my craw, also. We spent a second round pick for a Big 10 kicker (which I hated), when another Big 10 kicker from that very same draft class went undrafted, and is now a probowler.

Not a second but a fourth rounder and well worth it.

The "we" I was referring to is the Jets.

And, I think the fourth round is about as high as I would ever think to draft a kicker. ANY kicker. Even that mule from the Disney movie, who could kick 80 yard fieldgoals for carrots.
