Season is far from over

The ravens have a really tough schedule, so if the jets win out and we win out, we can still make it as a wildcard.

The ravens remaining games look really hard, and same with the colts.

Neon Deion thinks the Pats will get in...he said it without ANY reservation..I do think the Ravens could drop a few..remember they are playing Pitts...with Wash before and Dall after. BOTH those teams are fighting for a wild card...so I do expect to see 2 losses in those 3.

Yes. They'd have a better divisional record.

We lose the division but can still get a wildcard depending on what the other teams do.

man iam so glad the ravens have 4 really tough games.

This was the last loss we could afford.. but the team needs to win out to survive this season.. ... Would love to see the jets lose 2 more games..

Colts remaining games hard??? I don't think so. Cincy, Detroit, Jacksonville are anything but hard. Tenn is their only tough game.

the jaguars usually play tough against them.

I think we can win 3 of 4 and get in. This is mostly because the Ravens have such a tough schedule. We'd just need two of the wins to be against our 2 AFC opponents. The Bills game is especially huge because it would put at 4-2 in the division and likely would give us more of a cushion on Miami who plays BUF, SF, KC, and NYJ.

so even if miami wins out and we win out and the ravens finish 10-6 we would still get in?

Because of tiebreaker situations theres basically no chance we go 10-6 and make the playoffs. Every game is a playoff from now on

Thank you for clearing up our playoff chances. I thought it was over when I read a couple of threads on here.

I think the Jets will drop a couple.

We can definitely still make the playoffs, I just don't know how far we can go, realistically...

Then again, anything could happen...

true..
the last couple of superbowl winners got hot late and it carried over into the playoffs..
so, if the pats can get hot, heal up, maybe they can make a run. I am not suggesting the superbowl but they could make some noise or more.

Right. The team is 7-5. It clearly isn't going deep into the playoffs UNLESS it gets significantly better somehow.

Mainly, that's a matter of defense. The offense and STs have their off days, but for the defense this year being off seems to be more the norm than the exception.

The remaining games are ones that we SHOULD win. Win out and we are almost a shoe-in, division title is within reach with a few breaks. If we can't win these 4 games, we probably don't deserve a playoff shot.

Although Baltimore has a tough schedule, they also have a game on us and have played well against the toughest opponents (well, except the Colts). I think the Pats have a better chance of catching the Jets than getting the second wildcard. Jets have to stink it up against our divisional rivals. Go Phins and Bills!:singing:

I don't see Balitmore's tough schedule like everyone else does. They play in what will almost certainly be the final game in Texas Stadium, which is a tough game, but then what? Next toughest game is Pittsburgh, but they get them at home, and remember that they really handled the Steelers on MNF in Pittsburgh back in Week 4 for a half or so before collapsing. They then get the Skins at home (a team in decline), and the "Gave the Bungels their "1" in the left column" Jags at home.

I still think the best chance at the playoffs is winning the division, which entails winning out (obviously), and a Jets loss to either the Bills or Dolphins. We need to root against the Jets (duh) the rest of the way, and also, a Bills win over Miami in Toronto next week would be big as well (giving the Phins 3 division losses).

Who wouldn't be happy with maintaining the divisional title this year, at this rate?

First game I had to turn off all year. I've got the flu and holding back the spew was getting harder into the the fourth quarter.

I think we'll see a decent run in the next few games. Tough to imagine any reasonable way for the D to get any better. But enough about that. Gotta love the Jets loss. Too bad we couldn't capitalize.

It's close to over.

We have a very low chance for the wild card. We need 2 8-4 teams to drop 2 games this month. If the Pats/Ravens/Colts finish 11-5 they get the tie breaker for conference record.

At this point, pray we win out. Pray Miami beats the Jets.

I honestly don't give a ****. I'm far from a fair weather fan, so save your comments. I would rather forget about this team in December than have some blind faith they can make the playoffs and deal with another defensive melt down in the final seconds of the post season. all season the defense went from average to poor. That's not a good sign.

When all 5 of your losses are to playoff teams, that stinks of 1 and done. I'd rather get the better draft pick. Now if we can sneak into another division crown, I'd take that. But who cares about a weak wild card entrance. This defense is not capable of turning it around. All season the same thing has been on the field, the same thing has failed.

I remember back in the day guys went down and this defense could recover. This season we lost a very, very slow and vunerable SS. We had no answer for his depature. That's on Belichick, considering this was his last season anyway. We lost a ROOKIE CB in Wheatley. I'm so tired of that excuse that rookie CB hurt us. If you go into the season depending on a rookie, you have it coming to you. They tried replacing Samuel with decent corners, Bryant didn't even make the final cut and they had to settle for O'Neal who has been less than stellar. That's not bad luck, that's bad management. We lost Adalius Thomas. I don't even see him as a big loss. He isn't used as a pass rusher in this defense. He led the team with 5 sacks, that's pretty crappy for any pass rusher and speaks volumes about this defense the fact that 5 sacks would be the most of any single player.

The problem with this team isn't Brady. With Brady, we're proably one win better with a severely flawed defense. The coaching has got to improve. Bill has used a soft scheme the last 3 years and its gotten worse every year. He needs to change that. He needs to get the proper horses. Pees needs to go. The guy has no balls in his play calling. Just soft, ineffective defense. Brady can come back and be as good as 2007 next year. It will mean nothing until this defense gets better.

I'm done ranting.

Your also wrong on the facts.

It's a shame you couldn't have been delivered to the Steelers lockerroom at halftime huh? Might've made the difference
