Re: Adam Sch. reports : Matt Cassel to Chiefs ! [merged]

Scott Pioli 1 Floyd Reese 0

Based on what?

Why do people insist on being jackasses with zero information?

Re: Adam Sch. reports : Matt Cassel to Chiefs ! [merged]

what if the chiefs trade cassel to the jets

Re: Adam Sch. reports : Matt Cassel to Chiefs ! [merged]

well...pioli wasnt running the texans. if the texans gave up too much doesnt mean chiefs will. maybe the performance of schaub after the deal is a deterrent of giving up more for backup QBs

Err, well, but then how do you explain Belichick and Pioli giving up a second for both Corey Dillon and then again a couple years later for Duane Starks?

Re: Tom Curran says #3 overall pick NOT involved in trade

wow.....ripped

Re: Adam Sch. reports : Matt Cassel to Chiefs ! [merged]

An early pick in the second round will yield the Patriots a very

good player.

Who did we draft in the second round last year? Was it woodley, or woodson?

Re: Tom Curran says #3 overall pick NOT involved in trade

I'll be very disappointed if all we got for Cassel was a 2nd rounder.

Oh no remember its Cassel AND Vrabel for a 2nd round pick, what a freakin hose job!!!! I am speechless absolutely speechless!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Peter King reporting 09 2nd rounder from Chiefs

Boston.com says Vrabel was part of the same deal.

I really hope the pats did not trade a starting QB and LB for 1 2nd round pick. Another shoe has to be dropping.

Especially when Shaub went for 2 number 2#s without playing a full season.

What did we get Moss for again?

Re: Tom Curran says #3 overall pick NOT involved in trade

just remember they are speculating!! I wont worry till i hear it from the New England Patriots or the Chiefs unless otherwise its all speculation!

Re: Adam Sch. reports : Matt Cassel to Chiefs ! [merged]

Starks cost a third round pick, by the way. Don't know how high either.

I don't know the market for Cassel, but I'm sure they didn't give him away. Not so sure about Vrabel, might have been a graceful way out due to age, salary and usefulness to Pioli.

Maybe his value was speculated to be more.

Of course another way of looking at it is, would we have been thrilled to get the bottom pick in the first round? If so, BB might have preferred to pay second round money with a damned good chance of getting exactly the same player.

Re: Adam Sch. reports : Matt Cassel to Chiefs ! [merged]

tom curran confirms #34 for vrabel and cassel on nfln.

Re: Tom Curran says #3 overall pick NOT involved in trade

We traded a 7th rounder for a 2nd rounder when you think about it. Not bad.

Re: Adam Sch. reports : Matt Cassel to Chiefs ! [merged]

Finally....a voice of reason in a desert of disillusionment and despair !!

Oh my. Still hoping there is more to it.

Re: Adam Sch. reports : Matt Cassel to Chiefs ! [merged]

Curran on NFLN now saying that the extent of the compensation is the Chiefs #34 for Cassel AND Vrabel... now commenting on how people might be scratching their heads about how little is coming back from KC...

If you had told me this time last year that Cassel and Vrabes netted 34, I'd be pretty stoked, but all things considered, it's a little puzzling. No conditional 2010 pick?

Re: Adam Sch. reports : Matt Cassel to Chiefs ! [merged]

Chiefs 2nd rounder = Recent Patriots 1st rounder, a couple picks different, in an immensely deep draft which offers an abundance of similar quality talent from picks 10-60.

Finally a voice of reason amongst the cries of "Fleeced!".

I think Vrabel thrown in was a nice way to let him get the rest of his contract instead of being cut. It was a pure salary cap move imo.
